    An incredible designer and supremely important figure in British social history. So much of what we wear, see, and do in modern life is a direct result of the influence she and others like her had in the mid 70s, making discontent and rebellion something beautiful and revolutionary rather than something purely destructive and reactionary. Even if you don't know her work I can guarantee that absolutely everyone will have seen and most likely owned something that in some way owes its design to what Westwood started all that time ago and continued right up until she went. Punk never dies.
