Southport is just down the road from me and I have been many times, a quiet mid-sized coastal town. Each family must be in utter disbelief.

We're still waiting for confirmation of the details of the attacker but very interesting that the Police and Home Office are withholding it. What we're all waiting to find out is whether he's a follower of the Religion of Peace and whether he's a native Briton with a name like Thomas Jones or with a name from violent lands overseas - and if so, what the hell he is doing here.

I know what my money is on purely from my pattern recognition skills.
