The new Archbishop of Canterbury is announced: Dame Sarah Mullally

The position has been vacant since January 2025 with criticism of the Church of England for taking so long to appoint a new spiritual leader of England's national church and the worldwide Anglican communion

An awful choice, you might as well join the Liberal Democrats than belong to a church led by these soaking wet liberals.

More to the point, the change from the Archbishop of Canterbury holding office for life, down to decade-long slots, down to a process which now takes over a year to appoint a replacement is an absolute joke. Contrast this with the Catholic Church who lock the cardinals in the Vatican for a few days until they agree on a choice of new Pope - and he takes office immediately.

The Church of Nigeria has announced it is leaving the Anglican Communion over her appointment. Reasonable, to be fair.
