Definetly Mage.
But I know quite a few 100+ that hit high with melee.

Yes melee hits higest no dout about it but it isen't as fast as range and mage unless you use a dragon dagger or a whip?
But then again with mage you have a rubbish defence

Cheaper things hit less, though dragon scimitar hits less that dragon mace I think..
