Chapter One
Underneath The Webs



The word Cratchway always makes me shiver. The dark, dusty road. Open cracks and trouble neighbours. Alot of fights occurs around Cratchway. I live round the corner from it and all I can hear in the night is cars speeding with police sirens off and on. I have had a bad year. My family have all been torn apart. Year by year something would happen. My parents would argue and my Dad would move out, then he would be crying like a dog back on our doorstep. Alot of my uncles and aunties fall ill and I only have 2 left considering all the others died. It is like Cratchway road. Every year something big occurs. Alot of people have been murdered there. It has been all over the news and never seems to fade away, seeing as other tragic moments occur. We were thinking of moving along time ago but we never came to a final desicion.

Today was October 27th 2004. The week before Haloween. When I went into town with my mates, lots of little children were running around with pumpkin choclate lollies in their mouths and buying their outfits. Haloween was my favourite time of year. Ever since I was 3, I used to get all excited about the day and be chasing around for my outfit. Over the past 2 years I have grew out of it. Considering now im 15. Last year I went as the scream and got my eggs and flour ready to chuck at the teachers houses. I had a great laugh last haloween and couldnt wait for this years.

My friend was coming over today. Her names Sarah. Me and her have a great laugh all the time. She always puts me in a good mood, even the hardest times. We were still thinking of what we were going to dress up as. This year was going to be a blast we thought. Well... That's what we thought..
