I only use the cheat for ammo/health/money and the weapons cheats, plus i do save and nothing ever has happened to my disc (this is right from GTA Liberty City)
I recommend www.cheatcc.com for cheats as it is updated quicker than cheatplanet

www.ign.com is the best site for gta cheats it has a own section dedicated to it like 5 pages of cheats under ps2 section
