unfortunatly that is not possible, as the normal forum has the capablity to Wrap when the forum is resized in width by the browser, large images do not so there for it will over hang making it look extreamly tacky, this is a common problem with different screen resolutions so thats why we opt for a smaller banner than the forum width.
