I heard that you're getting Santa Cruz, Eto'o, and Tevez, so you would have Eto, Tevez, Bellamy, Santa Cruz and Robinho, not bad, how could you turn that down eh?

That sucks ass, less PL games to watch next season, meaning I'll probably miss out on like two/three Wolves away games live on TV, which is disappointing, hope they go to Sky though, because they could easily show them on the red button, just like they do for the Champions League games.

Because up to some amount of money a year (can't remember the exact) figure you get taxed what you normally would get taxed and everything you make over that sum of money gets taxed 50%.

192 + 192 = 384.
I don't get it - I don't particularly care because he's not good enough to be on that amount of money, nearly at Ronaldo's wage. By the way;
Bellamy, Evans, Sturridge, Robinho, Vassel, Caicedo, Bojinov, Benjani, Jo.

STEVE BRUCE is trying to make Jermaine Pennant his first signing at Sunderland - and he can land the winger on a free transfer.
More options on the wing cant be bad, and especially if it's a free transfer, in effect, we'll have nothing to lose. If he sits on the bench all season, its no skin off our nose.

You watched him in the confed cup? Helluva finish after fluffing a penalty.
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is keen to bring striker Lomana LuaLua back to the Premier League after his stint with Qatar side Al-Arabi.
"LuaLua scored just five goals in 59 games for the Toon before moving to Portsmouth and then on to Greek side Olympiakos in August 2007. "
ok, 1. old newcastle players bruce? really? did he see chopra in the derby?
2. if we want a striker who will score 1 goal in 12 games we might as well put murphy upfront.

Benitez said this today. So i imagine Liverpool had a 30 mil budget. Will still have 19 left..
so if he sells
Arbeloa: 8 mil
leto: 3 mil
Babel: 8 mil could get more
Voronin: about 50 pence will get more
Dossena - £6m
That could leave us with 44 million pounds 50 pence.
Then theres talk about mascherano or alonso leaving. If any do leave i can only see it being one of them. :'(
Theres another 30 mil.
Benitez also pointed out that the transfer signalled their intent to buy big despite the club's parent company, Kop Holdings, posting losses of up to £42.6million last year.
The former Valencia boss even states that Reds fans can expect one more big money signing without the need to sell any of their top stars.
"We have a plan," he told the Liverpool Echo. "We can sign one more player if necessary, but that's without any players leaving.
"Alvaro Arbeloa has had a very good season but he has one year left on his contract.
"If he signs that will be good because we will have more competition, but if we get a good offer we will have to consider it."

According to Spanish radio Liverpool have managed to find the funds to make a massive bid for David Villa of Valencia.
It has seemed to be a certainty that Villa would stay in Spain but the reporter on Valencia radio stated that David Villa’s head may have been turned by Fernando Torres and that while he still wants to stay in Spain the one club he would join outside Spain is Liverpool.
Liverpool’s finances have improved it appears and they are ready to test Valencia and David Villa with a very big offer, they are very serious by all accounts and feel confident that they stand a good chance of getting him.

We arn't getting Doyle for £7m. Apparently he said he didn't want to come because he didn't want to be involved in a relegation battle - the ******. I personally don't want him to come anyway. Seriously don't think he's a Premiership striker at ALL.

Arsenal and Liverpool in BIG bidding war (http://www.footylatest.com/arsenal-and-liverpool-in-big-bidding-war/6592)
June - 25 - 2009
The daily round up of Spanish news speculation has been collected and the best one that we have come across is that Liverpool and Arsenal are both in a bidding war for the same player and that the figures mentioned are big.
Now when they say big they are talking between £15 million and £20 million and while the name of the player was not mentioned on Spanish radio it is believed to be a Valencia player
The reporter said that he has been told by a reliable source that Liverpool and Arsenal have both made bids for the same player and when pressed he said that it is not a player from Barcelona, Real Madrid or Sevilla, when pressed even further on if it was Valencia, he just said no comment and let out a laugh.
Some easy deduction means that it is either Silva or Mata that is the player that they are bidding for, however by all accounts Silva is heading for Real Madrid if recent reports in the British papers are to be believed.
So it seems that Juan Mata is the target and the figures of between £15 and £20 million make sense
Be interesting to see how these two debt ridden clubs can afford to bid so high and who will end up with him.
Mata would be a class signing.

He also said
We are working and trying to bring new players in but we are happy with the squad we have at the moment. We were thinking about improving and with Johnson we have improved. Like I have already said, we could buy one more player without selling anyone. We now have to wait.

My opinion of Man City has gone so downhill. At least when Chelsea have money they buy the players they need. All Man City seem to be doing is buying strikers and unless they play a 3-3-4 Formation with 4 strikers, it's pointless. At least spread out the money and buy some defenders or something..

Ok, thats confused me a little now?
Explain to me how Eto'o, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Barry and Scott Taylor would be a waste for City and 'players they don't need'? If you haven't realised, we haven't exactly got a goal scoring striker, and if we are aiming for a top six finish next season, we are going to need a much more powerful squad, as the squad we currently have is not good enough to challenge the likes the top four and Everton and Villa. Also all these players but Scott Taylor would be used in most of our matches and would actually be very valuable for our squad and not a 'waste'.

He's not complaining that City are spending money, rather how they are spending it. You seem to be arguing the case of throwing money at a wall and seeing if it sticks, whereas he thinks City need to consider this spending more and be a bit more clever.

Eto'o, Santa Cruz - More strikers, who are possibly past their prime? I thought you wanted a squad to become a fixed top four (or atleast top 6) side? Surely then you need young talent.
Tevez - You have plenty of strikers anyway.
Barry - Midfield? Kompany, De Jong, Ireland, Elano, Johnson, SWP and then Barry? Hope you have a comfy bench at Eastlands.
"Scott" Taylor - You have Given and youd rather play Taylor? Or you'd rather send Hart to Brum to have Taylor as back up?

Yeap agree with above. That's what I meant. City are wasting money in my opinion, they have robinho and if they bought tevez too then that would be enough strike force to get you challanging for the top 10. What city need are defenders, however, they aren't buying any of them.

What many of you don't understand, is that we don't play Robinho upfront as a striker like you all seem to believe. We play him on the left wing and usualy have two players upfront, which is why were looking for the likes of Santa Cruz, Tevez and Eto'o, which means if we did get these three players, one of them will be on the bench. This is exactly like United getting Berbatov last summer? United already had Ronaldo as a top scorer, but he of course doesn't play upfront, but they wanted another top striker upfront, even though they already have Tevez and Rooney, meaning they could put Tevez on the bench.
So far though, it looks like we will only be getting Tevez added to our strike force, leaving us with the two strikers we need upfront, meaning we need a substitute striker now.
Also for all those saying we need more defence, well were trying to get Lescott, and were suposedly still trying to get Terry which will be impossible. And yes I made a mistake naming Stuart Taylor as Scott Taylor, i'm human so don't have a go at me.

Tevez was on loan, and there was always going to be the possibility that he would leave. And, Berbatov wasn't bought to score goals, he was bought because of his impressive assist record. That United squad was built around Ronaldo. Their 2 forward men, Rooney and Berbatov hold the ball up and neither are prolific strikers. Rooney puts in the graft and Berbatov can hold the ball up well, giving Ronaldo the chance to score with a spark of brilliance.
So far though, it looks like we will only be getting Tevez added to our strike force, leaving us with the two strikers we need upfront, meaning we need a substitute striker now.
Ok, sure. I'll give you the choice of Robinho, Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Evans, Bojinov, Caicedo or Vassel.

Like I said, it's not just that, your squad is incredibly unbalanced. See how many strikers you have? And how many defenders can you name? Zabaleta and Kompany are good players. And yet when you sold Corluka that was a step backwards and instead you signed another striker in Bellamy.

Reports in Spain this morning are that Liverpool have in fact made an approach to Valencia for David Silva and have made a bid.
In addition the bid is regarded as serious and is being considered and that it is now down to the player himself if he wants to leave and join Liverpool.
Liverpool have been linked with a trio of Spanish stars but until now it has been speculation however the reports out of Spain is that it is now real and that Liverpool have made their intention very clear.

Ok, sure. I'll give you the choice of Robinho, Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Evans, Bojinov, Caicedo or Vassel.
Well if were going to be fighting for the top four next season we need a substitute striker that can score and the strikers we currently have aren't all that capable of doing that. Besides, Hughes is selling a dozen of our players. Vassel is looking to go to Turkey, Caicedo is looking for another club, Bojinov hasn't managed to settle into the premier league, Benjani is just not good enough, Evans is too young at the moment. Leaving Bellamy and Santa Cruz as the only two strikers that I would be happy to play/have on the bench. Besides, Hughes wants players to be playing well to stay in the squad.
Santa Cruz is already training hard and has said how he wants to try his best to out perform Tevez ad Eto'o if they join so he can stay on the starting 11. This is exactly what we want in our club, and as Robinho didn't play well away, at least there are now other players that can replace him in away games, or perhaps he may just now perform better away so to stay in the starting 11.
Like I said, it's not just that, your squad is incredibly unbalanced. See how many strikers you have? And how many defenders can you name? Zabaleta and Kompany are good players. And yet when you sold Corluka that was a step backwards and instead you signed another striker in Bellamy.
Corluka turned out not to be too much of a step back, besides we bought Zabaleta to take over his role, and he did much better and has turned out to be a brilliant player for our squad. Your also missing Berti who we bought to possibly replace any of the back four if needed, as he could play in any of these roles. (where we are missing Sun Jihai :P)
Also you say how we have too many players, which can't be too much of a bad thing for us, as long as we can pay their wages then its no problem for us at all? And if they're unhappy because they're not playing, then they will have to all play better/harder to get in the squad, thus making the current player in their position try to play better and work harder to keep their place, its a really good thing that we need to keep our team strong.
GK -Given can be replaced by Stuart Taylor
RB - Richards can be replaced by Zabaleta
CB - Onouha can be replaced by Kompany
CB - Dunne(or possibly Lescott) can be replaced by Kompany or another central defender we may buy
LB - Bridge can be replaced by Garrido or Ball (but they aren't too good)
CDM - Barry can be replaced by De Jong or Kompany
RW - Wright-Phillips can be replaced by Elano (if Elano stays)
LW - Robinho can be replaced by Petrov or a striker
CAM - Ireland can be replaced by a striker or Elano
STx2 - Last two roles will possibly be fought between Eto'o, Tevez and Santa Cruz if all three were to join.
Now I would be happy with that squad, especially that there are players that can easily replace any injured, and mainly to make most of our players have to work to keep their name in the starting 11. This could drastically improve our perfermance which is what we will need if we want to get a top four finish as that will take a lot of work to break into.

Instead of buying Eto you should buy a new LB, and new CB (Maybe Lescott) and a new CAM. If you did all that first, and then wanted to buy a new striker then k, but no point just buying a row of strikers.

Tbh i think most of the good players want to join Real Madrid for one thing.... The money.
If Real keep signing these Top players then most of them will be warming up on the bench for most parts of the season!

Well, Real have proven themselves in the past to be the best club in the world, and even before this spending people saw them as in the top 5 in the world. Man City, have come from no-where with all this money, haven't built up a reputation, and are just trying to buy there way to winning. I don't agree with Real being allowed to buy every good player and I think it's unfair on other clubs now to be honest though. Also, Man city are wasting money in my opinion, and Real aren't as they can play all these plays in there first team, but they should let other clubs have a shot too not just buy them all.

By the way I'm really confused why you still think Real Madrid are doing good deals? Can't believe you guys paid over a million for Mark Hudson, the man has zero class and zero ability. Expect him to get bored with the club midway through the season and subsequently look bored and uninterested whilst playing.
On the plus side Darren Ambrose has signed for Palace on a free and we got Freddie Sears on a season long loan!

dunno really. we have to trust DJ on this, he has a knack of signing good defenders so we just have to hope that this one turns out to be good. been quoted that it's 1.3m million with 1.05 up front and 250k in installments. this better be good.

Michael Owen, when fit, is England's best striker. He's a natural goalscorer. Although, he might be injured all the time, when he plays he can get goals. It's a free transfer and I doubt he'll be paid that much. Man Utd will still buy more strikers.

The capture of Michael Owen by Ferguson could possibly be one of the best transfer signings of all time. It is genius by Ferguson, Michael Owen on a free, I am almost ****ing my pants. If United get him fit he will be top scorer and probably win the golden boot with ease, this is also good for England because they will want a fit Michael Owen back for them which could win us the World Cup.

Michael Owen has left Bridgewater Hospital after having a medical ahead of a proposed free transfer to Premier League champions Manchester United.
It is believed Owen, who was smiling when seen leaving the hospital but refused to answer questions, is now at United's training ground.
Sorry if posted, I'm sure this will be a good signing, Rooney and Owen in the England days were awesome they were like the partnership of Torres and Villa.. Dnt Flame xD.
United usually gets the best out of players and i hope they do with Owen, and hopefully Berbatov because he is an awesome player and i would compare him to Ibrahimovic. So i think a few more signings including a goalkeeper and were fine.
We need a good team leader... That's were we are lacking i think.
Hopefully Owen Hargreaves will be back, what a player he is.

Man U can still field a decent side without buying anyone:
Van Der Sar
Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra
Nani, Hargreaves, Carrick, Giggs
Rooney, Berbatov
And Then they could have: Owen, Valencia, Anderson, Scholes, Park, on the bench.
That's just my opinion and there are probably better formations and players Man U use, but i'm not a Man U fan so I don't know there strongest team. Personally I think all Man U Need now are a new GK and a new RB and there sorted for the season.
Personally I think Man U should go for Rene Adler, a German Keeper who I like a lot and as for a RB I'm not sure. If they signed Glen Johnson instead of Liverpool then that would have been ideal for them but not sure what other class RB's there are available.
