The only thing that's stopping me from believing it is the fact that Wenger said he was interested in Chankuh or whatever his name is and I know that Lorik Cana is a VERY highly rated player across europe.
If you get them, you're in Europe next season no doubt.

He's not Arsenal standard at all. I cant understand the connection. Even though he has some lovey touches, the most of his goals are scored with his noggin. Thats totally not the way Arsenal play their fooball so I can't understand it. Besides, hes not even a young prospect, hes 25/6.

Alot of it's be mixed up by the media. He basically rang to remind Ridsdale that he's allowed to leave if a big club comes in for him (unofficial agreement). It was first reported as a transfer request, and now everyone seems to think he hates Cardiff.

I know but seeing as he signed the contract 3 weeks ago, why did he feel the need to remind Ridsdale? It's pretty much a transfer request. But by saying that he doesn't want to play second fiddle behind Michael Chopra that means he doesn't want to fight for his place so why would a Premier League club buy a player who won't fight for his place. He says that he doesn't like playing winger but he played there for Motherwell albeit in a 4-3-3 formation not a 4-4-2. He wants to keep his Scotland place, he's played there twice and I'm sure that they were on the wing. I do want him to stay, however.

The central defender who spent seven years with the Gunners has signed a four-year contract and becomes the sixth summer signing.
He passed a medical late this afternoon and then headed straight to the Blues headquarters to finalise paper work.
Boss Mark Hughes who added Kolo to other new faces in England midfielder Gareth Barry, strikers Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Roque Santa Cruz and goalkeeper Stuart Taylor believes that the Ivory Coast defender will be a huge influence in the dressing room and on the pitch.
"I am delighted to welcome Kolo to Manchester City. It is no secret that we have been looking to strengthen our defence, and in Kolo I feel we have recruited a world class player. He brings a wealth of Premier League experience from his seven seasons with Arsenal,” he declared.
“Kolo has been a central figure in a very strong Arsenal team for many years, and I have been an admirer of him for a long time. He is strong, quick, reads the game well and will be an influential figure in the dressing room.”
2 more defenders then we've done.

Kaka should have been sold for £40 Million and Ronaldo for £55 Million. Alonso is worth about £20 Million in my opinion. The normal going rate for a world class player is £30 Mill, e/g/ Rooney, Benzema e/c/t but Kaka and Ronaldo are above that price in my opinion, along with Messi. Watched both matches, and he was amazing in both. He has great awareness for a 17 year old and we need a good left sided player too. Both his goals were great too. A lot of pressure for him too seeing as the England Manager was there just to see him.
You beat Rangers fgs, they're ****.
Arsenal 3 - Rangers 0
Arsenal 2 - Atletico Madrid - 1
Arsenal 1 - Hannover - 0
Arsenal 5 - Szombathely - 0
Arsenal 7 - SC Columbia - 1
Arsenal 2 - Barnet - 2
Won every match except 1 which we drew. I know there not the best of teams, but nevertheless it shows that we have a good team that can play together and I've watched 2/3 of the matches and we've played very well.
I know we won't win with the current team, but if we buy a couple players then who knows.

Did I say that? No. I said that I think with the team we have we can make the top 4, nothing about winning it. To win it then we do need to buy players. And seeing as last season, we had a very good if not the best record against playing Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U, it was lower teams that beat us and took points away and Rangers and AM are the same quality as teams such as Fulham, Portsmouth e/c/t, actually I'd say AM are the same quality as Everton and Aston Villa. I know pre-season doesn't mean too much, but at least it shows that we have a good healthy squad with good team work.

I doubt Arsenal will even get a mile close to winning the prem this season.
They might even sell Philip Senderos and that would be even a bigger joke and a MASSIVE blow to to team.
If Arsenal want people to take them seriously well i suggest that they get a decent manager who can buy players who will bring the Club forward. Not saying Arsene is a crap manager as he bought fantastic players of the years, Henry, Fabri, Van Persie, Nasri, Ady but over the past few seasons or so, Arsene seems to have lost the plot.

Personally if I'm honest I don't think we will win either unless we get players and we have the money, but Wenger knows what he's doing and I still think that despite the last few seasons. Jack Wilshire might play a large part this season, not sure. Arsene is still one of the best managers in the world, so I don't think we need a knew manager. Phillip Senderos was never going to play a part in Arsenal which was decided last season so that's not a suprise to me or any other Arsenal fan really and isn't really a big blow. He dipped a lot and I think he does have talent but we have: Vermalaen (sp.), Gallas, Silvestre, Song, Djourou and we might even buy another CB so we don't need him that badly. I think we will come 3rd with the current team and with some improvements 2nd. Next season when some of the younger talents have got experience, then who knows maybe we can break through and win. Only time will tell I guess but I'm sure we can win another cup in the coming season, just a matter of if it's the Carling cup or the Champions League but like I said, that depends on who and if we buy.

Yeah he probably will be used as a sub/for those cups but I think he is capable of playing in the PL but either way he will be a good talent in the future. I don't know. I really don't.
Think about it - Vermaelen is a straight swap for Toure yes and he's 5 years younger than Kolo with potential to become a new Hangeland - a Prem gem. If you solely watched Adebayor last season he's a very lazy player and insists on everything being done for him. Class player, too egotistical and really can't play in a team and Wenger's made a tidy profit on him. That's all that's left.
They still have the talisman Fabregas in the team, Gallas who played fantastic the latter end of the season, Rosicky and Eduardo fully back from injury - Ramsay, Walcott and Vela will shine this season if given chances and you've got back up in the shape of Gibbs and Wilshere who have been playing fantastic.
I think Arsenal have the best chance of winning the title this season without any more additions since they last won it. I don't think Chamak will improve the team drastically, his strike rate is 1 in 4 and for a striker that's incredibly poor. I do think Melo would've improved the team but I think they could do with an experienced midfielder and could replace Almunia because he is sometimes a liability.
In other words, I reckon Arsenal have a great chance of winning the title.

Everton in talks with Arsenal over Senderos
Everton have confirmed they are in talks with Arsenal over the proposed transfer of Philippe Senderos to Goodison Park.
The Merseyside outfit claim the deal is not yet done but that negotiations are ongoing with Arsenal.
A fee of around £6million has been mooted, with any deal for Senderos likely to intensify speculation over the future of Manchester City target Joleon Lescott.
Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright told the club's official website: "We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe.
"Nothing has been concluded yet but talks are on going."
Lescott on his way then?
Liverpool in for Defour
Steven Defour's agent has confirmed that Liverpool are keen on the Belgian star.
Real were considering Defour should they not sign Xabi Alonso from Liverpool, who are also viewing him a replacement for the Spaniard.
Roma's Alberto Aquilani remains a target for Rafa Benitez, but Defour is also very much on the radar for the Anfield club, who are expected to sell Alonso to Real this week.
Standard have insisted that they will not be parting company with their prized asset but, Defour feels that is not the case.
"I have an agreement with Standard Liege that I could go to a top club, and Liverpool fit the bill," the 21-year-old is quoted by the English press.
And his agent, Paul Stefani, has confirmed that Liverpool are keen on Defour.
"Steven's name has been mentioned not only at Real Madrid, but also at Liverpool - they are looking at him too," he told the Daily Mail.
"Normally he would stay for another year, but nobody could say no to clubs like those - and Liege would not stand in his way."
Anyone seen Defour play? I've heard he's good but haven't seen him play

Yeah I know that there's a chance we can still loose against them but I'm saying that beating these teams in pre-season shows we are in good form and can work well together against decent sides. Yes I know it's pre-season and that neither team was taking it as seriously as they would in the PL and it was mainly for fitness but it does help boost the moral of the team, and I'm not getting 'too excited' :$. Our problem last season was we got off to a bad start, and we lost against the so called 'lower teams'. Winning in pre-season, even though it doesn't actually mean too much will boost moral and help us beat those two problems but yes I agree with you that it is about fitness and anything can happen in the PL.

Ah kk. £34 mill is a good deal for liverpool. This Madrid team is shaping up nicely.
I'd play a 4-5-1 with:
Casillas (GK)
Ramos (RB)
Pepe (CB)
Albiol (CB)
Marcelo (LB)
Alonso (CM)
Ronaldo (RW)
Kaka (RAM)
Sneijder (LAM)
Robben (LW)
Raul or Benzema (CF)
or a 4-4-2 with:
Casillas (GK)
Ramos (RB)
Pepe (CB)
Albiol (CB)
Marcelo (LB)
Alonso (CDM/CM)
Ronaldo (RW)
Kaka (CAM)
Robben (LW)
Raul (LF)
Benzema (RS)
and on the bench they will have:
Dudek (GK)
Metzelder (CB)
Garay (CB)
Gago (CDM)
L. Diarra (CM)
Guti (CAM)
Drenthe (LW/RW)
Higuain (CF)
Negredo (S)
That's given that they sell those 5 players above.
Sorry for long post.
EDIT: They could do with a new LB though, as Marcelo is probably there weakest link, but he is still a good defender and has a lot of talent, and is still only 21.

Al-Muhammadi tipped for Sunderland
CAIRO: Sunderland are keen to sign Egypt winger Ahmed Al-Muhammadi from ENPPI, the player's agent Nader Shawki revealed.
"Al-Muhammadi had a successful trial with Sunderland on the weekend and manager Steve Bruce was impressed," Shawki told Modern Sport TV.
"Negotiations between Sunderland and ENPPI should be concluded in the next few days."
Al-Muhammadi was strongly linked with a move to Blackburn in the winter break, but Paul Ince's departure from Ewood Park hindered the deal.
The 22-year-old played well in ENPPI's 4-3 defeat to ES Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, scoring a goal and setting up another.

ndependiente's Argentine teenage sensation Sergio Aguero says he would prefer to join his boyhood club and Champions League holders Liverpool rather than German champions Bayern Munich.
Last week Bayern confirmed their interest in the 17-year-old Aguero, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a striker, but the Argentine talent is holding out for a move to English side Liverpool.
"If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League," Aguero is quoted as saying in the Munich TZ newspaper.
"I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there.
"I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente."

LOL, I don't Liverpool would be able to afford him.. Hasn't he got like a £50 Million release clause in his contract or something.
I think United was going to offer £30 - 35 mill for him plus Berba.
£45m.
Means United value Berba at 10m:eusa_clap

No. If he's got a release clause in his contract for 50 mill, then United obviously value Berba at 15 - 20 mill....

Well seen as no one has posted;
Aston Villa have completed the signing of Fabian Delph from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.
The England Under 21 international has produced some sparkling performances for Leeds in recent years and is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future.
A number of Premier League clubs were interested in securing his services and Manchester City appeared to be leading the chase over the weekend when Mark Hughes spoke about his admiration for the player.
However, Villa quickly moved ahead of their rivals and have now finalised a transfer after Delph (http://topics.skysports.com/Fabian+Delph/?section=football)http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif underwent a medical and agreed personal terms.
Details of the deal have not been revealed but it is believed the fee could be worth up to £8million with add-ons.
Martin O'Neill has a reputation for bringing through youngsters and Delph will be hoping he can also make an impact in the Premier League.

Aguero's release fee is £45.5m.
If Fergie was going to offer £35m and Berbatov as you said, that means Fergie values Berbatov as £10.5m as simple maths equates that £45.5m takeaway £35m equals £10.5m

According to SSN, AM won't sell him unless it's an offer of over £50 Million or more. £35 Million cash and Berbatov would value him in excess of £15 Million.

It shows what crap SSN put out there. If his release clause is 45.5mil, United can just pay that and get him.
In a sale, the club that possesses the player agrees a deal with the players suitor to sell them for a price. However, in the player's contract will be a release fee. This means if the player's suitor can pay the fee, only the player and the suitor need to agree. So basically, if United pay the 45m for him, AM cannot stand in his way. which is why Barca have just renegotiated Messi's contract to contain a 200m release fee, to put im out of limits for every club on the planet really.

I love how they rate Aguero higher than Torres and Torres is much better.
Aguero is 5 years younger and is tipped to become one of the best players in the world when he peaks which is still not for another 5 years, and Torres is in his peak now hence why at the moment he is better. That along with the inflated market means he is currently worth more than Torres yes, even if at the moment he is not as good of a player.
EDIT: As for post above, His release fee is more than £45 Mill I think, and also if they want to offer £45 Million cash or w/e his release fee is then yes, AM Have to sell him depending on if Aguero wants to leave or not. However, they haven't offered this, they have offered £35 Million cash apparently, and even if they offer that and Berbatov they don't have to sell as they might value Berbatov as worthless to them even though he isn't. Release fee only works with cash, otherwise it is void.

Ah fair enough. I don't think United will pay it, well not this season anyway but I suppose they have the cash so who knows. I think Berbatov is worth more than 10 mill anyway, even if he has been off form.
Barcalona should have bought Aguero in my opinion instead of Ibra, they can afford it and I'm sure AM would have accepted £35 Million cash and eto'o. Aguero and Messi in attack for Barca would have been an amazing partnership and Barca would have been able to bring out the best in him.
Ibra is a risk, he is an amazing player no doubt, but he has a good chance of flopping in Spain, only time will tell.

Madrid president said Sneijder isn't for sale and will play a big part in his future plans. But M. Diarra is and V.D.Vaart and they would have suited nicely too but I think that Aquilani will do well or flop as Jack said, but I'm backing him to shine. £18 Mill last season I would have said is too much, but this season it's hard to tell how much a player will go for but it's a decent price considering the market.

What is your strongest First XI atm?
I'd say:
Reina (GK)
Johnson (RB)
Carragher (CB)
Agger (CB)
N/A (LB)
Mascherano (CDM)
Gerrard (RCM)
Aquilani (LCM) (Given the deal goes through)
N/A (RW)
Kuyt (LW)
Torres (S)
Then on the bench have:
Cavalieri (GK)
Aurelio (CB)
Dossena (CB)
Riera (M)
Benayoun (CAM)
Babel (LW)
Voronin (S)
Sorry if I missed out somepeople or got positions mixed up.
Who would play LB and RW for you then? I think they should but a new RW or a new LB, or even buy Silva and then put him on the left and Kuyt on the right.

Alberto Aquilani (7 July 1984) is an Italian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie A side Liverpool F.C. and the Italy national football team
I'd say our strongest team is
Gk: Reina
Rb: Johnson
Cb: Carra
Cb: Agger/Skrtel
Lb: Aurelio
Cm: Mascherano
Cm: Aquilani
Rw: Kuyt
Am: Gerrard
Lw: Babel (If he plays at the level he can)
Cf: Torres
