OK then, he's been injured. Whatever you wish to believe, he'll be gone soon anyway.

Oh it's not his wifes fault, granted that probably played a part. The major factor though? That non-existant debt which United fans claim they can pay off asap.

Lol it's nothing to do with that. I'm sure in due course will be able to find the money
to pay the debts off...

It's his wife's fault that's the major factor in this.. anyway we don't know if this is true for starters, papers will make anything up to attract readers.

And i don't know where you got that thing about United fans claiming the debt can be payed of soon quickly. Hard to believe i'm afraid, we all know it can't be paid off over night.

On the stoke forum, there's supposed to be someone who works inside the club who is allowed to give us clues lol, whether he's on a wind-up or not. We're supposedly trying to sign 7-9 players. 1 striker worth 8-11 million (3choices : cisse, crouch or bent) a play-maker (oneill, scholes, or huddlestone) a loan player from top 4. and then not sure on others yet. I respect the owners for doing it the rite way though, they've bought the oldest club in the world that was lurking with going out of business, injected money, and have a 5 year plan to get into the championship, then the Prem, not to mention updating the stadium and training grounds/other facilities to world class standards, and have also promised to join in with more community activities with the cash injection that they are getting, they've done it the rite way and I wish them every success.

Its alright, your entitled to your opinion.
I can also see why Campbell has joined, and that is because he can have 5 more years of football. I think he's also looking to become a coach for Notts County like Arsene Wenger has said. Just a shame Notts County wern't as succesful at getting Hamann. He was brilliant for City before we bought Kompany to replace him.

EDIT - :O Finally got Lescott, I'm guessing it took a while to finally confirm his transfer due to his contract and 10% of the transfer fund going to Wolves. Shame to see Dunne might/should be leaving. :(

Hughes has confirmed that City have recieved no bids for Dunne so far. I think hes worth more than £4m or £5m. If it were City buying him, we would have bought him for like £12m compared to someone buying him for £4m or £5m with our over spending lol.

Probably Ireland.
If not, Shay Given?

Ireland will most likely be captain now. But it could also be Barry, Given or Toure in my opinion.

AlexOC
26-08-2009, 06:07 PM
They shouldn't put anyone new as the captain, Ireland deserves to be captain as hes really dedicated, i would love to see Shay as captain, hes my favourite player (Y)

CHA!NGANG
26-08-2009, 06:12 PM
Shay is still relatively new. If you technically put your strongest team out, I don't think Ireland would make the cut but because he is home grown and stuff then he probably will. Imo, Barry should get it if it was down to ability as he is a proven captain but probably be Ireland or Given.

Flamedragon3
26-08-2009, 07:03 PM
It doesn't nessecarily have to be someone who has been at the club for a while. I mean when the season began last year, we had Kompany as captain due to Dunne's previous sending off in the last game of the season before. Kompany would be a good captain but hes injured, and with the new signings he's more likely to be on the bench.

CHA!NGANG

Wolves are in for 6ft 7inch Croatian striker Nikola Zigic, in a reported £7,000,000 deal
~ Rumour at the moment, with West Ham also interested, hope Wolves pull this signing off.

A transfer move that I do not want to see happening is:

Newcastle's Andy Carroll could be set for a surprise exit from St James' Park with Bolton and Wolves keen on the young striker.

No thanksssssss.

Another rumour is that Wolves are in for Rapid Vienna striker Stefan Maierhofer ~ never heard of him, so I can't comment on that one, one thing I shall say is that I think we should stick with players who a proven, not strikers who are nobodies.

And a rumour going round in The Express & Star (our local paper) is that Wolves are in for Red Star Belgrade midfielder Segundo Castillo ~ wouldn't be a bad move IMO.

I really hope Wolves pull a couple of these signings off, definately Zigic and Castillo please. :)

Don't you just love deadline day?

Rumours going about indicate that Stoke & Wolves battling for the signature of Joe Ledley (would make sense as we are also selling a couple of our **** players which could fund this transfer), I doubt we are in for him though, as it'd cost £7M+... would be nice if we bought him in though.

7mil with 1year left on his contract? never in a million years.

You got turned down with £6M bid last year, yes? I don't see how his price could change that much just because he's only got 1 year left on his contract, I'd be happy if Wolves game £6M+ for him, he's a hell of a player.

I agree, but teams like Stoke and Wolves need players this season, not next season. :P

Looks like it could be happening;

Joe Ledley to Wolves for £5.5m (plus Sam Vokes on loan for the season & Darren Ward). Neill Collins to Leeds - £500,000.

Come on you scouse *******ddd, put your hand in your pocket... again. :P

Cardiff have offered him a 4-year deal

Next year he can leave for free.

No, he can't. We're entitled to quite a bit of compensation from whoever he goes to. He's under 23/24, welsh international, been with the club for ages, came through our academy, had a bid turned down of £6m. They take it all into consideration.
