Installed some LED's into the fog light area because my car nevr actually had the wiring for fog lights here anyway so they were just for show before.

Lovely car, and it's rapid! Very unique too, only ever seen another one in person (apart from my dad's) and it was a dark burgundy colour:

Not as nice as the white imo!
The second picture of it was at Crail Raceway, a deserted airfield converted to a 1/4 mile dragstrip, made a vid of us driving on it (from the grey Saab onwards is me driving)

"The EC has Directed that all new cars sold within the EU from 2011 must be fitted with DRLs. These can be LED halo lights, as on Audis, separate large sidelights, as on FIAT 500s, or even LEDs where foglights have traditionally been located."
They don't have to be LEDs, it's why some muppets drive around with their fogs on, to try and fit in with the DRLs, making their cars look newer when in fact it's illegal because their fog bulbs are more powerful than the DRLs.

In the states most vehicles aren't equipped with DRLS, but in Canada they are required by law and all vehicles sold up there are equipped with them.. it blows! My BMW is my first Canadian spec vehicle so I don't notice it but with every other vehicle I've had up there I had to have the headlights on all the time.. it was so annoying.. I've been looking into mods and some people have wired their headlights up so that the DRL's are the halo-rings.. I think it would look sweet!!!
Just been with my step-dad to buy his new car, it's rather fast actually!
It's a DS3 racing, only 200 in the country. His is black and orange, rather than the grey and orange shown in the picture.
He has a normal red DS3 at the moment, which we've had for a year.
New one has 207bhp and does 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds :)

I love the new E-Class, my moms fiance had a previous generation model but the lease was up and he replaced it with a Buick Regal CXL Turbo. He never drove the Mercedes and he never drives the Buick, frankly I don't understand why he needed another car in the first place. I'd say when mom and him are done with the S-Class they'll probably get one of those..

That would be as the main driver, I can't imagine it being that deadly if he's just insured as an occasional user - I have a 17 year old mate who's insured as an occasional user on his dad's Audi A4 1.9 TDI and I think it's barely even £1k

I live in a very upper class area too. And I'll say the car will be parked in a garage, so the insurance will be cheap as there's no risk of the vehicle being stolen. The only thing they can flaw me on is if they think 'Oh he's 17, it's a 30k car, he's bound to crash it. To cover ourselves let's charge him 7k' but I don't think it'll resort to that. It's an automatic car, the odds of a new driver crashing as so low. It's like driving a Go Kart :P

it will be expensive. automatics are more expensive to insure because it costs more to repair or replace an auto box, and the fact that the value of the car is high means that the parts are expensive to replace, therefore because you're such an inexperienced driver the risk is higher meaning that if you crash it it'll cost them more to fix. not to mention that despite the driver aids it's still RWD and you're probably going to make a mess of it on a wet roundabout.
also: i don't know where you got the 'the odds of a new driver crashing are so low' from, because the odds of a new driver crashing are very high.

I've only had problems with my Honda transmission and virtually every Honda 1999+ with a V6 has the same transmission issue. Other than that none of our vehicles have ever required a new transmission, the Range Rover has over 160k on it and the transmission is all original! It would be way easier if you got to learn on an automatic car then you had the choice to learn standard or not.

What would be the point? Why learn automatic, then become a learner again for manual transmission, when you could learn how to drive a manual from the get go and be set for life on both transmissions? :P

Because some people find learning how to drive hard enough, throw in learning on a manual transmission.. I learned on an automatic, did my test on an automatic and learned manual after.

There is no right side, it's personal preferance, people just prefer them on the left so they don't hit their sprocket/chain/hub. I've got them on the right at the minute because I'm trying to learn how to grind on my right side as I can already grind on my left pretty good, I rarely hit my sprocket/chain/hub anyway. Also, they're WTP Envy bars and no.

Ahaha, it's cool. Reading over what I wrote again, it really did sound blunt. And nice, I think my friend was looking into getting one of them but his mom wouldn't let him order one online. Big clean today. Really need to find a new location for pics of my car, my driveway is getting kinda boring.
Anyway this is my car's first clean after spending the weekend in the car park (field) at T in the Park festival a couple of weekends ago. Thankfully I avoided a great deal more mud than this when I avoided the muddy path to exit the car park on the Monday morning and dodged in amongst the parked cars :P

Here's my baby, shes a 2006 Suzuki Swift CT (Sport), it has customized wheel trim skirts, twin exhaust, some expensive rally suspension, I forget the name!
Picked her up today and had some racing stripes put on her, the roof isn't done because it was raining, hes going to do them the weekend. Also going to have a flag sort of graphic on the sides too!
She has literally just broken the 3k miles mark, the car was actually used in the top gear episode where they where playing football with cars. The dealer I bought from bought all 12 off top gear and built them up, sold all but kept one. He decided he wanted to sell the last one and I picked it up!
There is something like 3 which where on the top gear episode, still in the country, others are all over the world. One is even in a museum in Germany.
The car has literally just been parked in a warehouse for 3 years, up until last November it had done 59 miles legit, now it has just over 3,000!
Before stripes:

I like the Suzuki Swift :) It's like what the Mini Cooper should of been - small, nimble and stylish. Interesting about the TopGear facts. Did they ahve the number plates* on in that episode? You might be able to pick it out :P
or they changed the plates for numbers, but I think they had the numbers on the body work, but could be mistaken.

The swifts in the football where a different colour.

oh no what has happened to that car :(! looks like it's driven through a vinyl shop and picked up bits and bobs!!

Aha, I had to have the flags to take attention off the spacers on the wheel arches, but I went to a garage to get some scratches out and he said he could have buffed the spacers out!
I'm thinking of removing the flags + stripes, buffing the spaces on the wheel arches out, and possibly get a carbon fiber bonnet wrap, but apparently the wrap is quite expensive!

what do you mean by spacers..?
& cf wrap is alright if you know what you're doing but i think that they look like cheap bonnets that people couldn't be arsed to find the right colour after an accident.
btw, are you declaring all these modifications you're making to the car to the insurance?
but yeah would look better if it didn't have the stickers, the stripes aren't that bad tbh!

Not sure what they are really called, but its some strength bolts to pin the skirts.
I've not declared any of the MODs to the insurance company, I think I may phone up and ask them what if I did put all the MODs and decide on their reply :P
I say leave the flags off dude, and I'm not a fan of carbon wrapped bonnets or pretty much anything, unless it's real carbon on something that needs it!

I'm thinking of removing the stripes and flags, getting the spacers buffed out, then I would probably carbon wrap the bonnet and spoiler and buy some nice offset black alloys :)

3M cf wrap can be picked up pretty cheap off ebay... looks tacky if you do large areas with it though, subtle touches like mirrors or interior bits look pretty tasetful though

I don't think the bonnet + spoiler would be too over the top?
I was actually thinking about buying the material cheaply, then getting my step dads mate to fit it.
Personally I say don't do the bonnet. I wouldn't do the spolier either to be honest. I just dislike carbon wrap unless it's on small things.

I'm pretty much sure the mirrors that where on the car before I bought it where carbon fiber and it actually looked really nice.

I know :P havent had the time recently to get around to doing it all properly as it takes me 4 hours to do a proper job of cleaning the outside as im a perfectionist. Need to get some tyre shine for the wheels now too seeing as its blac on black so you noticethe messy tyres more.

Unfortunately I didn't get much of a choice :P It was either that, a very girly looking blue or silver. I originally said silver but then went against it because, well, I don't really know, but fancied the red.

It was either that or a 2008 323i auto with no sport-pack and the nastiest wheels I've ever seen, but on the + side it was black on black and a year newer with less mileage. I'm happy with my car, I've had it over a year, put 50k on it and love it! I'll probably trade it in on another one in the near future (September) if I can get decent money for it, probably for a used 10' or 11' x-drive model.. we'll see how many miles I put on it this summer! I could even trade it for an X3 because I have a leg injury and I'm finding it hard to get in and out of a car, especially this one since it's so low to the ground :(
