You cant go on multiplayer if its torrented then, even if you have the IP afaik.

Thats only the classic version which is free anyway, i'm running the latest version of a survival mode server.

You don't even need to download it, you play in your browser! however your singleplayer saves are still on the PC and not online so if you play on another your saves won't follow you.

3 reasons i made the castle:

a) I wanted to be able to leave my home in safety (so i stay within the castle walls and can mine/do whatever in safety)

b) Its unlikely ill get lost with that thing there, i can see it from miles away

c) I wanted a cool home

You can put words in the IP box so if you download the program and make a static address link to your dynamic IP address, it should work. Maybe look for a tut or find someone to use teamviewer.

well yes, no point in playing for real at the moment since you can't really.. too many bugs, animals are invincible, you are invincible and no mobs. Minecarts are also unuseable. Eventually this will be fixed though.

I definitely know the sun rises and sets for me, but dont think i really notice if theres stars + a moon or not. So does that mean you dont have day and night?

Save your saves and delete the .minecraft folder in %appdata%/roaming (I think)

Added kits to server so its easier to get a whole load of stone rather than continually typing 64 each time

U can make it look really neat, dont see your issue with it :P. But each to their own.

Going back a couple of pages to the comment about loading up taking you to single player even when you select the Nemo server, mine seems to do that unless I'm logged in beforehand on the main minecraft site so that might be the issue and possibly an easier fix than uninstalling and reinstalling every time :P

Also why has no-one bought me the game yet

ive dug side tunnels off my main one, and i always run into lava like 10 stones worth in, im so lucky i didnt run into it in my main tunnel!

about an hour, went through loads of pickaxes and spades though, also to dig the gold etc etc i needed loads of iron+ picks as well, im using gold pickaxes now though as i found so much gold! :D

Gold picks are kind of useless. Notch said he added them as a sort of realism or whatever. Like, gold is useless in real life, it is only worth a lot because people want it.

Start a new world with a whole new gameplay. If you dug into the hill for your starting base, build a small house. Just do the opposite of everything you did.

I play on FAR render distance so it is actually a LOVELY SITE TO BUILD ON A MOUNTAIN AND LOOK OUT OVER EVERY THING. <- soz got excited.

I wipe guest every night and before i do, i look at if anyone made anything decent. If theres anything decent, i save it and remember that persons name. If they keep makin good stuf then they get builder and then no griefers woo.

I updated my post above so be sure to read that. Apparently, Notch should be in Sweden and home now from his big trip. His blog should be updated more often but meh. Hopefully he will be going full bull at it and not wasting his time hiring website coders.

yeah i do it manually with /z air, go down like 4 blocks and do the /z grass. and never!

There is a tool where it does it automatically, but i might wanna save some stuff so i generally dont

Hiring some people, getting an office, and all that!

I will get back to posting about actual Minecraft development soon, but bear with me for some more business news:
It’s Monday, the trip to Bellevue is over, and plans are slowly turning into reality. I met a lot of really interesting people over there and got a bunch of new potential business contacts, but for the immediate future I will be investing the money I’ve saved up into hiring people and starting up a proper company.
Or, rather, a close friend and I will be starting up a new company together. That company will continue to develop Minecraft. I will be the main developer, and I will keep working on it just as I have now, but there will be people supporting me, such as an artist, a web site developer and a business guy to help sort out all deals and make sure that things like the Creeper plushies actually happens.
My friend (name withheld for a while for office political reasons) will lead development of a game idea he and I have talked about for a few years. It will be developed in parallel with Minecraft, and has a fairly different style both in visuals and gameplay. Everyone working at the company will be involved in both projects to some degree.
We’ll get an actual office type of thing somewhere in Stockholm. We’ll have mandatory game playing hours every week to make sure people are a jour with the latest games (indie and otherwise), and to help build office spirit.
If you live in (or can move to) Stockholm, are good at 2D graphics (pixels, gui, illustration), play a lot of games, and want to get a new job, please email [email protected] with a work sample and a short introduction and a summary of what you’ve done before.
We’re also looking for a web developer. Ideally this person should both be able to handle the front end and the back end of web development. If you know what a “Cloud” is and can explain it to me, that’s a huge plus. ;)

If you’re worried this means I’ll spend more time on administration:
I spent way too much time already doing non-development stuff, like talking to paypal about them unlocking my account, traveling abroad, and sorting through support emails to see what bugs there are.
I will now hire a person to do all this for me, and some more people to help do the stuff I can’t do well myself (like the website, and some of the art (the armor)). I’m already getting amazing help with the sounds from C418, so I know getting help just makes me more productive

Nimrod what /z commands are there other than air and grass? Literally coughed a dirty yoghurt when I found out about /z grass because cuboid is a **** and won't do it properly init so wondering if there's more that I might find useful, not that I can think of anything else I really need

oh yeh forgot to tell you that you're an op now. ummm, /z is /cuboid. its just a shortcut. and theres like one ofr every block. Theres like a list of all the commands and the block names here; http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/MCzall

Cheeeeers anyway yeah blates not gonna use most of those commands but good to have a list, can't see /z [blockname] being useful other than for growing grass properly though, seems easier to just select what you want :P

yeh, just tend to use the /z grass if u want grass on it, and then just /z dirt or just /z and choose it for the other one.

My bet they will continue to support minecraft for a long time as I imagine they'll do alot of tweaks in MC2 (if they do make it), improved lighting (as he's doing tiled lighting atm), alot more objects you can make, alot more ores you can find, possibly improved graphics, make it so that the firetorch doesn't use doom-like 3d. Maybe even change the whole scenario so it's modern day or something.

You could take an arial shot and paint a rought map of it using photoshop or something... and an extra few screenies of the inside tunnels

I started a new world today, I actually walked so far I had to set up camp on the first night temporarily (was on hard). then when I found the perfect spot, i set up camp, had a good setup and a creeper got into my base and killed me i was so ****** off i quit.

I think it's when beta arrives. There isn't a date specified for this yet, although according to Notch's todo list it will be soon.

usually more in the evening, it's what everyone seems to do. Check who's on then leave and then 2 mins later someone else does the same... so it stays empty until someone stays for half an hour or so...

Download a new version? Or if you're using the browser version clear your cache.

It's the paid game and doesn't work like the free one. You need to navigate to the multiplayer menu and type in stuto.zapto.org
