Today, we're proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

For those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time. There will be a PC version for sure, but it's not going to be released until months later kind of like how GTA IV got released PC a lot later than consoles did. Lets hope that the PC Port is much more successful for GTA V than GTA IV. When GTA IV first came out on PC It was a living nightmare.. Before patches got released, people with super high end computers we're getting terrible frame rates. But i guess with all the 8 or so patches they released it's been improved a bit.

GTA IV didn't come out on PC until 8 months after the release for consoles. So for all you PC Fans out there that want GTA V, you can probably expect the PC port by the end of the year Estimated.

According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V's Los Santos is bigger than Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. Yep. There's wilderness, a military base, and even an ocean floor to explore underwater.
You can switch between the game's three main protagonists at "nearly any time."
Those three protagonists, by the way, are named Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Michael is a retired bank robber who gets sucked back into crime; Trevor is a career criminal and drug addict; Franklin is a 20-something street hustler.
Sometimes they'll work together on missions, during which you can switch back and forth from character to character depending on which part of a given mission you feel like doing.
Each character has his own personality, skill set, and group of friends to interact with. And the ones you're not controlling will go off and do their own thing.
This is the same world as Grand Theft Auto IV and Liberty City, so you might see some recurring characters from those games (just not the major ones, like Niko Bellic). But. Rockstar says this is the "high-definition" world of Grand Theft Auto, so don't expect to see anyone from the PS2-era titles.
Remember those randomized dynamic missions in Red Dead Redemption? They're back for GTAV: expect hitchhikers, muggers, and dead bodies, among others.
Yes friendships. No romance.
Rockstar says there will be an economy, but you won't be able to buy properties. There will be "loads of other stuff."

I'm really happy that they've increased the size, somehow even larger than RDR (That's pretty damn big) and if it's all city then that means either a heck of a lot of detail (Which is awesome) or a lot of open spaces (Which is what made San Andreas awesome) and also hopefully with all the space they'll add lots of planes in.

I'm skeptical of the protagonist switching, that's a really big thing about the franchise to change. I know the episodes had different characters but those were basically separate games.

Can't wait for this release, I haven't touched the 360 in too long but certainly will be Golding up and going into lock-down, curtains drawn, headphones on, that first loading screen is always the buzz moment. Rumours are its going to be confirmed for PC by Rockstar Wednesday during a statement and also give us a release date for the xbox and ps3 version which was promised this month.

Amazon who is known to have a very good relationship with take-two have now confirmed a PC release on UK, US and French websites now.

I really don't expect any sort of delay for the games release, however I do hope it is out by April, lets hope the leaked release dates stick.

Just also found out that IGN have apparently leaked another release date timer of April 28th. So now we have 3 leaked release dates, Amazon's March 15th, a German retailer's March 26th and now IGN.com with April 28th.

One of them may be accurate to the revealed date that is supposed to happen this month along with the boxart reveal

Watched this.

Favourite bit = the fact you actually have stuff to spend money on (stocks and real estate!.. which for a business minded person is a dream come true ;)).

Least favourite bit = not sure I like the idea of being able to control all three different characters, and how they get on with their lives when you are not there. This seems particularly odd during missions, I would prefer to just have one character with a hugely long storyline.

I really want casinos again, but I haven't heard anything about them - I like how you can buy cars again, it will be interesting to see what real estate you can buy and how interactive this is (ie, if it happened to be a shop, will it have a car park you can make use of?)

Actually thats the thing.... Once you switch to someone on a wanted level, you can't switch away from them until you've lost the cops.

I think that was cinematic more than actual events.

Played it for about an hour before football. Very fun, first mission was indeed fantastic fun - and I am genuinely impressed by the tennis and golf features - fun to play, which is important bearing in mind you need to play them if you want to gain strength.

Switching characters is great imo, and does not take long to do. Wish accelerate was x when driving, not R2 though (does not appear to be a configuration to change this). Yet to go to a strip club, maybe not as desperate at others? (Anyone who bites now is hilarious).

Driving feels good - better than GTA IV, love the convertible feature - although I think it is easier to die whilst driving, making me sort of wish you could optionally put s seatbelt on (slightly slowing down the time it takes to get out of the car maybe) - as I've already ended up going through the windscreen twice, killing me straight away).

Much to my surprise, I actually really like the new way to switch weapons, which gives me hope for Watchdog, which I seem to remember uses a similar system. Like how time goes into slow motion when considering swapping characters etc, useful way to go about things.

Just my first impressions, enjoyed the game so far! Hoping the missions are not too "samey, something Oleh might be able to confirm to me...

Well, I got it for £34.99 preordering it many many months ago :P Probably because they're low on stock :)
