DDR2 :P
What board is it going in?
There's absolutely no point in that much unless it's in a server. Having that much may actually slow it down.
Why the hell would you want 16/32GB RAM? :S
To feel special? I dunno Personally I'd go 4/8GB Max
You won't need that much unless you're running a server, you will be wasting your money on more than 4GB really...
I doubt it. Server boards have high quality memory controllers which can handle all of that bandwidth.
Yeah i know, i'm talking about a standard desktop though.
I actually don't believe this thread unless its a server.
Or 16 for that matter.
DDR3 is faster but a lot more expensive than DDR2 right now.
Is this for a desktop or server? :|
I really have no idea what's going on... Are you buying these Sticks of RAM to frame them and put on your wall?
No need for that sort of RAM for your needs.
4GB will do fine - £60 from ebuyer.com
If he is needing 16/32GB RAM for a server, he wouldn't be posting here ^^
DDR is the slowest
Well, Basically what i need is a PC that can handle games & HD video editing no problem. Any recommendations?

That's a pretty huge one.
Just get 16.
Windows xp only registers 3gb of ram no matter what ;)
32GB Will not slow down your server, it will just choke your wallet for about $5000 USD
Go for 16GB and save 3000.
Actually it would cost only $1200 for 32GB.
Ummm. No, your wrong. It costs atleast $400 for one 4GB stick.
Unless you think that an 8-core can hold 16 sticks? That would be really embarassing.
Edit: If your multitasking especially rendering videos/graphics, 16GB is baseline for extreme tasks.
DDR-DDR3 makes a big difference; DDR2-3 does not.
I suggest x8 2GB sticks depending on your uses.
