Indeed, that is pretty much how it works.

Are you saying that from your own experience? No. I don't see how it does? All it is is another moderator editing posts, It's not all about that.

You coming to the assumption of Super Moderators doing very little is extremely naive of you as you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes and let me tell you it's alot of hard work!

Firstly we get around 3-4 pages of reported posts a day , an Smod has to check all of these to make sure they have been dealt with correctly , secondly we get around 2-3 pages of infractions given out , an Smod has to check every single one of these infractions in detail to make sure they are fair.
After that we have the job of looking through the report something to an Smod thread / the serious rule breaking section and you'd be surprised how many we get in there. We have to make sure no one has oversized avatars/signatures and if they do we have to firstly pm then , secondly give an infraction , then remove it via ModCP and then fill In a Usernote.

Now let's get too the 'moderating' , we have to look through almost all new threads and deal with rule breaking as fast as we can and give an infraction without making an mistakes. Usually we will get an idiot or two who think it's funny to spam / flood the forum with pornographic images, Well the way we deal with this is an real pain , first we give them an infraction to record the proof with , then we rush to ModCP and ban them , then we have to come back to the forum and move all the threads they make aswell as the posts they make, finally after that we have to file a Ban report aswell as an Usernote , by the time we've dealt with one person there's another joining in.

I could go on writing about all the other tasks we do such as validate the VIP reminders , Check through Ips, Comment in the infraction problems and generally helping users whether it be in the ask for help section or via PM , but I don't have the time to do so.

After reading all this how can you say that an Smod doesn't do much for the forum :/.

I have to say I am upset that yoshi and mat has gone. Yoshi was great like Mat and me and Mat were great freinds but as OSH said it's up to the management and there is obviously a good reason behind it.

I agree with --ss-- and I am sure every smod and mod will. The work on a peak day is unbeleivable but with a good team its good fun.
