I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
Get something with a small engine, a larger engine can be quite costly, unless you go on a parents policy. you probably don't want a large engine if you have no experience of driving. My car's a 1.9 and it costs me around £1500 p/a for insurance on my parent's policy.
go for manual, you don't want an automatic.

In the States, the size of the engine has nothing to do with the price of the policy. My mom thought her insurance would go down when she switched from the 2002 BMW 745i, to the 2006 Lexus GS300 her insurance went up! She was shocked because it was going from a V8 to a V6! The insurance companys explaniation was "the car is a sportyer model, and it's an all-wheel drive".Get something with a small engine, a larger engine can be quite costly, unless you go on a parents policy. you probably don't want a large engine if you have no experience of driving. Over here the insurance company basicly pulls a number out of their *** and makes up some phony excuse why.

The person wanting to know lives in the UK, so engine size effects the price of car and insurance. Jesus' Clio is a 1.2 model and the same age as my Fiesta, mine cost about £5000 because it was a Zetec (second highest model), a 1.4 sized engine and a 5 door (I think Dynamiques are 3 door only aren't they?) So all those things effect the price, even though the cars are just as good as each other really...In the States, the size of the engine has nothing to do with the price of the policy.
