You can, some suits look like they are made really crap and look bad

Seriously people are actually saying just go in shirt and trousers? No tie? No jacket? No wasitcoat?

It's prom! You're meant to wear a dinner suit which includes wearing a tie, a blazer/jacket and possibly a waistcoat :S

A few people just went in shirt and trousers to my prom and tbh they looked a bit silly, out of place and underdressed.

No we are saying have a WC and tie with shirt.

    Jackets are not required.

As long as you look neat and smart it doesnt matter. =l

Actually if you refer back to previous posts some people clearly said do not wear a tie and do not wear a waistcoat :S & it's prom you go in dinner suits, a jacket/blazer is part of a dinner suit so therefore imo I think a jacket/blazer should be esential or you will just look underdressed

Depends who makes your prom. Some schools have people who do it and design ect.
And who goes to your school.

Not everyone likes jackets and all. I wore one but took it off half way through as it was too hot. Sorry i didnt see that then about the dont wear a tie or WC.
