    Questions for the technical people:

    1) Can we have another forum that runs with Hxf members? so if I register on the other forum I would also get registered here?

    2) Could Posts that are made on the other site also transfer to here as they are made and the ones made here transfer there?

Basically we are using the hxf databases to run another forum This way habbox could start building a userbase there which would be mainly non habbos but also the HxF users will look part of it.

    3) If the above is possible would it need identical categories and forums? or could on the other forum we hide most the habbo stuff so only with the url of them you could get there.

    4) The other forum that is totally non habbo related could offer a subscription service but the hxf forum could have them removed totally. but if you bought the subscription through the other forum it would still be valid on here due to the shared database.

I know it would cost another VB license but im sure sierk has a spare it could run on one of the servers and probably the ccurrent HxF one.

    Is this possibe?
Impex is a tool devised by vBulletin for importing a database from other schema's (like phpBB, mybb, etc) into a vB database so you dont have to start from scratch again.

This is possible but it would be sometime before we can implement it due to the mind boggling complexity of running two forums on the same database. By legal requirement we would need two license of which I do believe we have a spare and if not, I can put on up instead.

The easiest way I could see this would be to have a section of code edits, that are relative to URL so,

IF domain = lifebox.com then show non habbo forums else show habbo forums.

I am aware of a certain plugin that allows you to have a common user table, however posts and threads are not shared. So if you wanted to check up on your technical help thread you would have to go to lifebox.com otherwise we would have to make all sets of forums / categories viawable on both licenses which would just defeat the purpose at the end of the day.

    [jrh-Idea#27]

    FREE VIP renamed HABBOX SUPPORTER

Every member is entitled to get a coloured name of their choice and benefits. To get this the member would have to post in a thread requesting it and it will be set up manually by a HS Editor (habbox supporter editor) The only thing here is that you only get access for a limited time say 48 hours? once that time is up you revert back to a normal member and then to get free HS again you would need to post in the thread again. If there is alot of people after this then it could take a bit of time to set them all up.

But.............. For a donation to help keep habbox running instead of having to post to get your benefits you make a DONATION. The donation allows you to stay in this group for a longer period of time

There would be no benefits here that you cant get for free by requesting them in the thread

OK people add some more to this or pick holes in it please

If you have any idea to help out habbox please post it you might not be sure of it but you could be the genius we need to save the site.

Wouldnt be feasible, however, if lets say by donating, you are given an option of joining a publically joinable group called "Habbox Supporters" from the UserCP. Then this wouldnt be such a bad idea then would it .

Also what was wrong with this charity idea?

Nothing, yet. I think nvr has emailed the Habbo Offices asking if it's allowed.

Sod whether they think it should be allowed or not! If the power hungry *******s want to have so much control over our site then I can happily send them the invoices every month!

by the way 15 rep to the first person who finds the threads of the journalist that did the article on habbo and came to HxF to ask the community questions.

It's the quality of your posts that count, not the quantity!

Indeed so. I've now interviewed Habbo co-creator Sampo Karjalainen and visited Habbo's London HQ (and talked to the very excellent people who work there - which I say in the newly acquired knowledge that they also visit Habbox regularly... )

All further comments welcome. As I've said, the article's coming out sometime in September.

Thanks again to all who have responded so far
