You said you need to have grades or something to join the Police.
"There is no formal educational requirement, but you will have to pass written tests."
https://www.west-midlands.police.uk/...0734173120.asp - I'd imagine this is the same for all forces in the United Kingdom.
First of all, I've looked at the tests (I'd post but can't find link) and all you have to do is answer simple mathmatical question in a certain amount of time. And you don't need A*'s to figure them out. They're really easy!
Regular Army
And you said you left school at 15 to join the army? You have to be ages 16-33 (Solider) you don't need any qualifications.
To be a officer you need to be ages 17-28 and only need "a minimum of 35 ALIS points for the best subjects at GCSE or equivalent"
Territorial Army
You need to be aged 17-43, no qualifications, and officer 17-33 and you need "a minimum of 35 ALIS points for the best subjects at GCSE or equivalent"
The exact age is 17 3 months.
So I'm confused?
