You said you need to have grades or something to join the Police.

"There is no formal educational requirement, but you will have to pass written tests."
https://www.west-midlands.police.uk/...0734173120.asp - I'd imagine this is the same for all forces in the United Kingdom.

First of all, I've looked at the tests (I'd post but can't find link) and all you have to do is answer simple mathmatical question in a certain amount of time. And you don't need A*'s to figure them out. They're really easy!

    Regular Army
And you said you left school at 15 to join the army? You have to be ages 16-33 (Solider) you don't need any qualifications.

To be a officer you need to be ages 17-28 and only need "a minimum of 35 ALIS points for the best subjects at GCSE or equivalent"

    Territorial Army
You need to be aged 17-43, no qualifications, and officer 17-33 and you need "a minimum of 35 ALIS points for the best subjects at GCSE or equivalent"

The exact age is 17 3 months.
    So I'm confused?
Always lurking around, never really post.

My responce: There is no educational requirement although you need a basic all round education - if you think that doesn't make sense then let me explain; the job doesn't require, for example, a high english grade - but it requires you to know the basics of it.

My responce: Without viewing the link I would imagine you'd probably find them easy as the tests are really easy, you can download examples from your local force website I believe.

My responce: I was 15 when I left school to join the infantry training. To do so I had to have my parent's permission.

To be a officer you need to be ages 17-28 and only need "a minimum of 35 ALIS points for the best subjects at GCSE or equivalent"

    My responce: I wouldn't know as I wasn't a officer; I was a NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer).

My responce: The Territorial Army isn't what I was in. They don't go to war they just go on tour there. Although they train very heavily - explaining the age. They train in different aspects that may have a set legal age limit therefor to join the TA you have to be that age, I would imagine.
I hope I have helped, if not then feel free to contact me via pm or reply.

Look into certain colleges for law. Try and get the most of school while you can.

    * From now on I will not be answering individual posts for people. Read the actual topic post and let your mind venture on what you could do from there.

Fair enough that other people can see the good in this thread but I can't: it just seems to be saying that you can always get qualifications outside of compulsory education. Isn't this something everyone knows...:S

You can get qualifications out of education.
