get a job at maccas, who cares? Its money. And i think being by yourself is better, you meet new people and don't hang around your mate all the time.

This is true. My sister works in Topshop, just on the floors and the tills and she works 3 days a week, 8 hour shifts which is enough to pay rent and live off of, far as she's concerned. She lives away from home by the by, in case someone thought we're required to pay rent in our own home.
Clothes shops are more difficult to get a job in obviously but they are good money if you can get it. Call centres are also always hiring/good pay but they are mighty crap jobs.

Yeah but they have no jobs.
Honestly, I'd rather work at the same places as my friends for now. I know I'll probably not be with them all the time but a shift or two would be fun.

You make friends with the people at your workplace anyway, it's not bad at all not working with people you don't know.

Why do you so badly want a job with your mates, getting a job is about the pay, making new friends not being with your friends all the time, not only will you get bored you will most likely get fired as when your with your mates you mess about and slack often. i find it funny you say your shy but online you give it all the biggin

As everyone else have said you'll make new friends at work. You may have the same shift as them but most likely not the same break and you may end up just lazing about when with your friends. Not working at the same place as your friends may seem daunting at first but it's a new experience and you will end up communicating with people who you wouldn't normally on the street with.

I'm a shy person in real life and meeting new people in the staff (vary of ages as well) is great as you can have a laugh but still work at the same time. I personally wouldn't like working with my friends from uni as they do seem the type to get warned a lot

Good luck with whatever you choose Paul and anybody else looking for a job. I'm coming up to my job at Boots for a year now in October and it has flown by
