Yeah it's a mockumentary.
Woah. Which being the first, Pulp?
I haven't seen it yet but it does look amazing - a lot better than anything that should be compared with Transformers 2 anyway .http://filegiga.com/6s9datumx22i/D9.R5.Noir - good link to watch it, great filmhad plot as well as action unlike transformers 2
Oh I went to see this too, t'was awesome. Easily one of the best films this year.
Sammeth.
QFT boiiiii!
How do they disappoint you? It's a new, fresh take on aliens in my opinion and I was glad they were something far from the norm. Plus you do realise the entire film was made on a $30 million budget? Also, District 9 isn't really a mockumentary. The first 20 minutes are in a documentary like format, but the rest of the movie is normal storytelling.

I saw it today. Enjoyed it, but throught the evictions section dragged on a little bit. Other than that I thought it was pretty good.

Sorry to bump, I just saw this before.
What a really strange film! I found it so intense and the main character is just so weird. Every second scene I was alternating between hating him and feeling sorry for him. I reckon the whole thing was really good at tapping into various different emotions.
I take back what I said about the image of the aliens. The trailer I saw had one being interrogated and I thought it just looked like some tree person. However that scene wasn't even in the film and the aliens did in fact look really good. I thought their movement on screen was amazing too as stuff like that usually looks kind of weird and almost in slow motion but these were perfect.
Found it a bit hard to follow to begin with though as the humans and aliens seemed to be ale to understand each other pretty quickly and the aliens were even able to read English. Although I realise some parts were over 20 years on but this is only apparent because you hear people saying it. Nobody seemed to age at all for example.
I kind of hated the main character's accent as well, it was like a mix of about seven different accents. Every time he shouted the F word it sounded like a mix of Irish and Scouse. Wasn't he meant to be Dutch or something? And I also didn't understand why the Nigerian people were living in the alien camp to begin with. o.O
Anyway overall I thought it was a very good film and the whole thing was a pretty accurate interpretation of how mankind probably would react if such an event were to happen.
