Why are people buzzin'? You can still have 2 Drogbas upfront and a Drogba on the bench, then just leave your 8 homegrown players on the bus. I don't think they've done enough. We'll be fine anyway. We have a decent enough academy.
wolves will be fine also, but, it's just i can't help but think these rules will affect our domestic game in the long term, is it worth that much risk?
also, no one has answered me, does any other major league in europe have this rule?

HOW WILL IT AFFECT OUR DOMESTIC GAME?
Basically, United can still Have Berba, Rooney, Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Valencia, Evra, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea and VDS out field, and they can still have Owen, Hargreaves, Park, Ferdinand, Giggs, Scholes and Neville on the bench.
And infact, Giggs, Scholes and Neville will class as homegrown. It will impact most squads very slightly. City can still buy Messi, Aguero and Ribery but put some youngster in the 25 man squad but never get played.
and what if 5-7 of those players get injured? they're going to had a squad of 18 to play around with for the whole season? that's not good by anyones standards, i mean look at wolves, we have 5-7 of our main players out, and have hardly kicked a ball in the prem, if the rule that is bought in next year would mean that we only 18 players to choose from, that's not good.HOW WILL IT AFFECT OUR DOMESTIC GAME?

8 isn't enough. I think atleast half the squad should be english.
Back for a while.
this rule doesn't mean all the young players will be english anyway, they can still be foreign.

I'm not saying that though. I'm saying that say if Drogba was injured, Chelsea have Kalou to step in. Only if Kalou got injured would they have to use Sturridge. And I think you'll find that nowadays, if 5 players do get injured teams tend to play reserves so in the grand scheme of things how much change will it be? Besides, it won't affect our international game either because managers really could just let the english lads rot on the bus.and what if 5-7 of those players get injured? they're going to had a squad of 18 to play around with for the whole season? that's not good by anyones standards, i mean look at wolves, we have 5-7 of our main players out, and have hardly kicked a ball in the prem, if the rule that is bought in next year would mean that we only 18 players to choose from, that's not good.
Before anyone says Arsenal, they probably have more home-grown than not.
Fabregas, Song, Denilson, Vela, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott, Bendtner, Clichy, Fabianski, Djourou, Ramsay, Diaby, Traore and a couple of fringe players like Merida, Barazite, Pedro, Nordveit etc.
They're home grown.
