Without trying to feed the argument here I would just like to say that I actually find the Apple Ads quite good. From what I remember they concentrate on 1 fact for the advert. Like PC would say "hey do you want me to give you this anti-virus softare?" and Mac would say "Nah it's ok, Mac's don't need anti-virus software because..... blah blah" etc. So they do actually have a fact hidden in there. I do think some of them are quite funny but I am an Apple fan boy so maybe I just would...

I'd just like to point out that there are viruses for Mac.

Yeh I know but the chance of getting one (providing you don't download illegal stuff or pr0n) is a tiny, tiny amount isn't it?

If you're smart then you wont get many viruses. But the fact still remains that you're safer from viruses on OS X.

That's not a fact at all, that's a terrible generalisation  THE fact is, "you're safe from ANY viruses on ANY Operating System, provided YOU don't find them and let them access".

Viruses don't "just appear" on an OS, they're usually caught from damn right ignorance for which the fleshy meat bag behind the computer is responsible. So no, you're fact is pure bile. An idiot using OS/X can gain a virus, the same goes for gaining a virus on Windows - the main difference is whether or not you're stupid enough to let access to a virus, either through an email, website or download.

So yeah, you just posted typical Apple user bile - fogged judgement and typical contradictions

"If you're smart enough you won't get viruses." - That's half-fact. "Any viruses" is closer to the truth.

"But the fact remains you're safer from viruses on OS X" - Isn't fact, and contradicts the first sentence - the OS isn't to blame, it's the idiot behind it...

The last sentence looks to just be chucked in to cause a stir to be honest :/

Yeh but it is also fact I could not get any LESS viruses if I bought an apple mac, than I have recieved on my Microsoft based OS PC. Fact.

Spare yourself the essay, FACT: OS X has less viruses than Windows, regardless of how moronic the computer owner is, there's less of a chance s/he will get a virus on OS X

OMG I AM AT GREAT RISK.

And you are at greater risk at being ripped off (oh wait, already happened.)

No virus I have ever got has been too bad. Just click heal on what ever AV you use, or 'sned it to a vault'

    Kerching. all done.

    ---

Might I also point out that there is a KEY reason OS X has less chance of getting viruses?

Because there are so many more programs available for winodws that OS X.

    Fact.
