It doesn't matter wether it's gold or not.

A gold lead obviously delivers better quality than normal ones.

This has been physically proven and demonstrated, it doesn't, it causes a placebo effect, humans think that because something sounds better and costs more it will affect how, in this case, it delivers audio and video.. it doesn't.

Engadget or Gizmodo had a very good article the other month and the conclusion was to not be suckered into buying those expensive ass cables.

The connectors are gold plated. Cable is very thick though, a bit more thicker than my beefy power cables anyway so its not very flexable.

Thick is good with cables. And £7 is not a cheapo one. £2 is a cheapo one. They cannot handle the bandwidth of 1080p.

    For 10m it is cheap.

I have another 2m cable that cost me 69p. Again it works fine for 1080p 60FPS and 24FPS.

    Fair enough then .

But it is true that some cables can not handle the bandwidth.

Yeah, you are best off checking out the reviews from other people that bought the cable and their experiences else you might end up with a crappy cable. However, if you buy a good cable, even at low price, then you should be fine.

Never buy cables from high street shops as 99.9% of times they are completly ripping you off

I find it rare to find expensive gold HDMI cables... The cheaper ones tend to be gold anyway

Hi. my cheap cable is probably the problem then? i guess the pricetag of £1.60 should of told me that. After looking at the page in which is bought it from, it mentions nothing about the resolution you can achieve. However reading customer reviews, customers are stating that they are recieveing a full 1080p??????? O and yea, when i select it, it goes black, then "searching for signal" then black again, and then the screen just comes back on with the unticked box still intact. this happens again and again. Although its not 30 seconds, its more like 10-15. Heres the link for the cable i bought. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/..._ya_oh_product

All reply-ees will be +repped thanksssss
    COS A SED SO RITE.
