Like others have said above, the age thing just wouldn't work as anyone can fake their age and it is unfair to limit it to one age group.

I'm not really too fussed whether people have themselves in their avatars or not but I can see why people would think it looks tacky.

# No - Not even if you are 18

technically the same thing.

Because the OP has specifically requested for 18+ Other members might want and it's multiple choice, anyway

No - Not even if you are 18 is the same as dont allow anyone - as it means under 18s cant and over 18s cant so ....... yeah.

I find that a lot of forums just have people posing in their avatars of the avatars of themselves and unless they are incredibly attractive it just doesn't work.

I know people have pics of celebrities posing but they are professionally taken photographs not a mirror image of thirteen year old girls pouting.

The avatar I was using IS professionally taken! Why then should I not be allowed to use it?

Even though it would never work, how about implementing a rule, all photos have to be decent quality or whatever. And by quality I mean not your typical myspace photo.
