If people want to pose, let them get on with it tbh. They'll grow out of it eventually.
I say yes... oh and let everyone, not just adults.

I think Rosie's point was more that people are just accustomed to it and expect it to be the same on here so you end up penalising new members, effectively putting them off the forum.

I don't see the need to have a picture of yourself? We're not a social networking site, we're a forum. The concept just confuses me, it just feels so unnecessary.
Because I have a picture which I really like and want to show it off?

Yes I know but I did edit the above post so say that the majority of pms we send for removal are for new members. I would say it's probably 95% and it seems to be expected now. We need more members that post and I feel they could be put off doing it if the first thing we ask them is to remove their picture.

Then why does it not suffice to post it in 'Post a Picture of You'?

@ Catzsy, that's the one part I agree with

Yeah but we all know there are plenty of people like that on here. I have posted pictures before but even so, back when I was more active I got hassled all the time. If I was a 12 year old joining the forum for the first time, it wouldn't make me feel very welcomed. The whole point of websites like this is for kids to get away from some of the harsh realities of life by giving them an element of anonymity. Changing the rules in question is just opening a huge gateway to bullying and as Garion says, it couldn't be more unnecessary.

I think there is more chance of bullying in 'post a picture' thread than in an avatar and it wouldn't be compulsory. Some people prefer to keep their privacy and in any event any bullying would be dealt with. Tbh anybody who bullies anybody about their looks is not worth bothering about anyway.

What I don't understand is, why people don't have the option to put their picture as their avatar. People who don't want to post pictures, don't have to. I won't be putting my picture as my avatar but I don't see why I shouldn't have the option.

In some sense I don't really want the option, I'm contradicting myself but the only reason why I wouldn't want it is because the amount of people on these habbo forums who are stuck up their own arses is unreal and will think they are the dogs **** with their 'fabulous' pictures. I'm saying that in the nicest way possible.

That automatically raises the opposite point; everyone who chooses not to show a picture of themselves will just end up being bullied.. 'everyone else has a picture of themselves in their avatar, why don't you, because you're ugly?'.
    hardly lmao
i wouldnt put one in my avatar but ill post them
    your point is flawed

no one would be bullied, if they wanted to bully they would just do it it in papoy
