Lets be clear on something that 40% of the members that voted in the sexuality thread said they are gay/bisexual - it does not prove that 40% of the forum are. In any event it wouldn't matter to me if 20% or 80% were. I find this thread as a bit of a non event tbh. I would like to think we live in more enlightened times.

If parents bring up a child saying that same sex love is fine, the child is going to be more happy to try it out and experiment with themselves whether they like men or woman more, don't forget this is during puberty - a very dangerous time with all the hormones and confusion considering decisions they make now could effect them for their whole life. If however the child knows that men aren't suppose to love men or woman aren't supposed to love woman then the chances of them turning out gay is going to be a lot smaller. I have heard of many cases were teenagers have been too scared to tell their parents that they think they are gay but when they got older and have passed through puberty they realised that they were just confused and not actually gay, the fear of coming out saved them in the end once they had got settled down.

And about me caring who see's me when I kiss girls in public, why should I need to care? You can't compare a male and a female kissing to 2 men kissing, the 2 men are obviously going to stand out more and get frowned upon by members of the public. The percentage of gay people hasn't risen over the years for no reason, it wasn't so long ago when there were hardly no gay people. You can tell me that they were scared to come out but in my opinion I just think that the reason there weren't nearly as many gay people is because nobody had really ever thought about it. The percentage has only started going up since people promoted it and it is becoming more and more common in everyday life, it makes people start to think it is ok when that is far from the point. After all, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
A child will not 'try out' lads because he's curious for the sake of it, he'll try it out with lads either because he's totally pissed (in which case he'll barely remember who his mum & dad are, let alone what their stance is on homosexuality) or because he wants to try it out, meaning he is already attracted to guys.

The second point, you are confusing people being sexually confused with opinions. This is what i've argued in the past with others aswell, homosexuality is not influence by surrondings or the opinions of those who are around you - it is natural. It can, I believe, influence personality which is where the sterotype comes from - but you can still get a raging gay guy who plays rugby and does all things sterotypical guys do.

As for you referring to the bible - do you drink? are you going to have sex before marriage? if the answer is yes to either, then why are you picking on that one issue (adam and steve) when its clear you are not remotely religious. I am with many and most likely also yourself who dislike the militant gays, the gay parades and the in-your-face ones.

As Rosie said it's not so much 40% of the forum but 40% of the people who post in the poll. Admittedly a small amount will probably be confused or consider themselves bisexual when in fact they will grow up and get married and have children in a straight relationship.

There is a high amount of homosexuals on this forum but I think it is roughly representative of homosexuals in real life. As you grow up and get old (like me) and spend a lot of time amongst adults you find there are a lot more people "out" in the real working world etc. While at school and to some extent college a lot of people are still ashamed to come out and keep it secret, whereas on Habbo / the forum people can be a lot more open about their sexuality with the expectation most people don't care (because it's a forum) and they will be protected in the instance that people decide to mock them for it.

you come accross very homopbic & biast here.... you seem to be quite obsessed with the whole 'gay' thing

having said that, you ought to be because the facts & statistics you are pulling out of no where make no sence..... obviously there is going to be more gay people now because of the general population across the world is always rising

it wasn't so long ago when there were hardly no gay people
are you kidding me.... there was the same number give or take as now, it's just now gay people are more genrally accepted

After all, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
OHH so you're religious now? i'm assuming you don't drink, have sex and dislike homosexuals at all ... that explains alot

the 2 men are obviously going to stand out more and get frowned upon by members of the public
but i'm sure you wouldn't mind if you say 2 hot girls getting it off.....

Don't throw the homophobic tag around here, it just makes you look like a reactionary which more to the point; he hasn't said or done anything 'homophobic' - whatever that word means now, because its actual definition is a fear of gays which i'm sure only a very very small slice of the population actually are.

To dislike homosexuals or to even hate isn't really homophobia, its just hatred/dislike of something. A phobia is to fear something, and the words homophobic/homophobia have been hijacked by the PC brigade/the militant gays as a way of silencing anybody who doesnt agree with homosexuality.

Where is the fear or hatred of homosexuals in what he said there?

There is none, the more you throw phrases around like that the more you build yourself up as a militant - which only worsens the problem. The guy has posted his opinions yet now he's being called a homophobe, all thats going to do is to make him stand his ground more.

I don't care if it has been posted before, I didn't read through.

Point: 40% of the forum isn't gay, 40% of the users who took that poll are gay. You're never going to get a poll here that every registered user takes so you can't make up the assumption that 40% are gay. Either way, I'm not gay. It's better that way.
