All Adobe products before CS5 were actually designed for and ran far better on Windows (arguably they still do).
Audio professionals are above Garageband, sure, but that's not what I said. I said creative and media professionals. These are people with a broad grounding in all areas of the industry with no specific expertise who's job may require differing things on a daily basis. Garageband is PERFECT for them because anyone can use it to make a decent song and no, it's not crap. Many software producers use it in their work because it's quick any easy to use. It obviously doesn't allow a musician complete control but as you yourself just said, Logic does, it's another Mac only product as is Final Cut Pro. On the Adobe issue I could say the exact same thing as you've said about Garageband, a professional Animator wouldn't use something like Flash, they'd use something like Toonboom. The reason the Adobe suite is so good is because it's accessible to everyone. There is a long history of development switching between Mac and PC. For example Macromedia products which make up a significant proportion of the Adobe suite were coded for Mac's before PC's and Adobe has always invested a significant amount of time in developing for Mac's even if they develop for PC's first. What is rubbish on the other hand is Flash Player for Safari, it's the only program that's crashed my Mac since I got it.

That's something we can both agree on, but we just have to live with it until HTML5 is up to the job of doing what Flash does

    no I love mine.
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

They're over-priced for what you get. If anything, they're over-rated because they're over-priced, because people always try to justify spending money so the price tag would suggest (if anything) a truely magical product, but in reality, it just brings to the table a new way of doing the same thing, as well as design and a label. It's an opinion war, but in reality, they're over-priced. Over-rated is purely down to opinion, and may go hand in hand with the price tag.

I don't care what they are, I love mine to death. The OS never slows down or gives me problems and so long as the hardware survives I'm keeping this guy for a long time
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
