I like OCZ, Kingston or Crucial.

You won't need an additional network card but you may want a wireless nic.
If you just need wireless then (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132449) or if you want N then (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166269)

There could be a big difference if you bought the parts in a bundle. There are several bundles on ebuyer such as: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/237051 & http://www.ebuyer.com/product/237053

Its just a case of adding a few bits to the package

General coding, facebook, msn, skype, vpn, all the usual stuff done on a PC will be ok on that spec. Its when it comes to gaming ect that you will need good spec.

Alot of people buy high spec PC's/components for the sake of having them.

Also, dnt forget you will need 64bit OS otherwise no more than 2/3GB of ram will be recognised/used

No but it has built in (the 2nd bundles i showed)

It has Integrated ATI Radeon 3000, if that isnt good enough, you an get hold of a 1gb GFX card for about £40 like: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176815

Well, Ive got a basic PC (Intel celeron 2.1ghz, 2gb ram, 1tb hdd, 1gb graphics) and sims 3 worked on it fine

That spec AMD PC a few posts above will work perfect I should think
