This is a very good idea and could work

It would require people to promote the site on Habbo (Although the events team could do this) and then in as many other appropriate places/sites etc.

We used to have habbox.com rooms on other game sites etc but not sure if they brought in any new members as we were only there to escape for a while but its worth a try.

Could there be habbox.com competitions on the Playstation Network or Xbox Live etc? perhaps even enter teams in things away from Habbo.

Push the fact the forum has far more to it than just habbo to try and pull in members from other forums/sites (of course without looking like your only there to poach their members)

There are sooooooo many things that can be done Instead of asking how this could be done perhaps throw some random ideas in to the pot and see what comes from them

Sounds like it would be a useful department

    Hire people to promote habbox

    - Facebook page
    - Twitter page
    - Youtube page

Etc, at the same time, some people on the forum could try and gain connection to some of their favourite youtubers and then maybe they could help advertise habbox.

Create banners for people to stick in their signatures if wanted on other forums

Facebook page, twitter page and youtube page could all be set up in under an hour. I think the useful thing to do is link up Habbo to popular rooms.

Search wired in your navigator. That's what people want to see, interesting new rooms. Having www.habbox.com would do a great deal.

Not even joking, i suggested this in a managers meeting about 3 months ago. I said we should have some kind of 'Promotions Team/Department' where they go around keeping Habbox Rooms popular, starting convos in other rooms about Habbox and advertising about big competitions we have like HxL giving away a throne.

I suggested this, but everyone turned round and said it was a crap idea basically .

I know, I hate to be an irritant but this is a very simple idea yet because someone very respectable and influential has said it, everyone's jumped on the bandwagon. That's not to say it's a bad idea however, marketing Habbox is very much the way to go about getting new members and keeping the site popular.

I never said it was a crap idea. Anyone saying marketing Habbox is a crap idea needs their head tested. However, I don't think a team is necessary to achieve it. Department managers, especially those in the community section, and their team should be doing everything in their power to market Habbox anyway. The competitions department are constantly advertising and it has seen the good results this brings. I can't speak for her but I do believe Roxy916, the community AGM, has been doing everything in her power to talk to casino owners and get them to insert Habbox in their room name. y'know the small things that make a difference. It can be done with the people we have rather than creating a team to do it. It's just about working together and spreading the name far and wide.

So do I think Habbox needs to get out there and advertise as crazy as possible? Yes
Do I think a team needs to be created to do that? No, afraid not.

Brilliant idea. I'm sure some people here know some tech savvy people who can fix us up some secrets and get us on Facebook twitter YouTube ect.

But I think it should be a commitee or managers and selected promoters who then collectively decide how to promote the site.

You think department managers will be able to do this on top of the world load they already have?
Some managers are unable to reply to staff threads or PMS. Some are unable to post reports. Some have too much to do.
So i think a possibility of a new team being created.

It's never been a problem before now to be fair. I agree with Inseriousity completely on this one, Habbox needs to be marketed but it should be management doing this. Forum Management is one of the more demanding management roles and these guys manage to promote their department through various methods on the client, for instance the HabboxForumLive radio show and HabboxForum Help Desk Takeover.

Competitions Management - anybody who says these guys don't market their department needs a slap tbh, half the time I contemplate filtering www.habbox.com/comps on the forum as they say it too much aha jk.

I think there are departments who need to improve their marketing somewhat though, the markteting of events is poor at the moment and we seem to get the same people at all the events, this can definitely be improved and there have been efforts towards this from General Management (for instance the fierycold Halloween events) however events management need to do more low-scale promotion.

HxHD Management the same really - they should be channelling people through the doors of HxHD with events, in the past we've had HxHD team up with Events to run HxHD events (where hxhd was turned into an events room for a night), HxHD parties & balls - always brought new people in.

HabboxLive needs massive promotion and this is something that Roxy, myself and Gemma are going to be working on in the next few weeks, we're going to utilise Christmas to bring people to HabboxLive and therefore channel them to different areas of Habbox.

Mike's right, Managers can promote and I've given examples of how here however to do this they need to be active on the client and have a creative and good imagination - we've started most of the plans for Christmas already and Christmas should be a wonderful marketing event to bring people to Habbox.

I've said so far that Department Managers should be doing the marketing, however I think the large-scale marketing is down to us really - the General Management team, in the past it's generally been General Management who have marketed Habbox on the large scale and we lack in this in some areas, Roxy is excellent at setting up big events - for instance the fierycold thing was wonderful - could have possibly done with more advertisement though yet we take this on board and will do it next time (although to be fair it doesn't help when the guy doesn't approach us until 2 days before ). Our job is to get Habbox out there and sometimes this duty isn't fulfilled massively however we have all agreed that Christmas time is going to be big at Habbox - we also have big plans for 2011 too!

The main reason I think General Management should be dealing with the large scale marketing is because for instance, I know Roxy has recently been approaching large, popular casino owners and the owner of an extremely popular Trade City regarding advertising deals with Habbox and connecting these places to the Habbox Central and HxHD - Roxy is by far the best person to do this as she knows the hotel well and has the official fansite badge! With the introduction of WIRED furni advertising deals could be so good, as we could advertise their rooms on our sites for things such as a wired trigger that advertises habbox when you enter their rooms, for instance in the trade room we could have "Need advice on values? Find 100% trustworthy and up to date values at Habbox.com" - this would work wonders and I know this is exactly what Roxy's up to!

However, I do think that this should be kept on top of and I think Habbox Management should have a monthly marketing meeting to discuss the promotion of departments during the month.

If we hired a team to do it, I fear the team may often become redundant and also take away part of managing departments, as after all - making a department popular is most definitely part of being a successful manager, an example of this would be ,Jess, who promoted HabboxLive unbelievably during her first year of Management and by all means had HabboxLive at it's peak period for the longest than any other managers. This is what we need more of, not a promotions team!
