If it is used in name calling then is also a penalty for that i.e. being rude to others. If penis are not filtered then I see no argument for this to be in the filter as this phrase is in common use even with the younger members. Appreciate I am in a minority here but the management do allow us to have our own opinions, luckily.
Nice to see someone in your position in agreement and understanding how the forum and its members work There is a great deal of fear it seems when it comes to the word filter. The only excuses we get are put up alongside getting rid of the word filter in general, when in actual fact people are debating individual words in the filter, NOT the filter in general. Dick is so harmless compared to other words that are filtered (and indeed, unfiltered) and if people do abuse it in the rare instances where people are intending to be rude, they will get the usual punishment for other words like idiot, dumb arse etc. It will most likely be over used for a week or two, as with any other unfiltered words, and then it'll just sink into every day use and context mirrored in reality.

Is it just me? Or have ***** and **** been unfiltered when i look at the previous pages?

Is it staying tlike this then?

Hmm seems like they aren't, if you're going to let people avoid the filter anyway in this thread then what's the point in filtering it?

Bonjour, la noirceur, mon vieil ami
    Je suis venu te reparler
    Car une vision piétinante doucement
A laissé ses graines lorsque je dormais
    Et la vision
Qui était plantée dans mon cerveau
    Demeure toujours
    Parmi le son du silence

Were those posts mine? I tend to overuse the size tags to unfilter words, it's fine if it isn't used in a rude context and makes a point Interestingly, the fact no-one cares about the filter being avoided voids the validity of keeping it filtered

Avoiding the filter in a contextual manner has always been permitted in HabboxFeedback to get points across.

There's a few responses in there. The Habbox Owners have always preferred the Habbox Filter to have all words that can be used predominantly in an insulting context to be filtered. The majority of the time the word **** will be used in an insulting context (whether it be a joke or not) therefore it's not allowed. It's not about the word being mild it's about being classed as a swearword and being insulting - that's the criteria for us to disallow it. Someone said it's just like the word idiot, no - not at all. The word idiot isn't a swear word and if it is used in an insulting way it's punished.

This is so incredibly petty of you lot. Everyone knows it's an okay word to use, you're just clutching at straws to keep the word filtered due to some unknown insecurities that no-one understands but the Habbox Owners It is like the word idiot e.g. You're an idiot / You're a dick. The only difference is it has different meanings. It's a swear word, but so is arse, ass and it's also a taboo word like penis, vagina, oral and anal. You literally have no reason to filter it, and saying it's a "swear word" means very little when many words in today's society are swear words, the main difference is social change has made them more and more acceptable. Got anymore terrible excuses?

It's slang and usually means lousy, useless and hopeless. It's only relation to the F word is by the 'ing and can be used in the same sentences to exaggerate a word or sentence. It can't be used for anything sexual - "I'm going to frick you good and proper" is incorrect

it's a bit like the word **** i guess. i dunno if that's filtered though?

    co.ck. i'd say that's even milder than di.ck - co.ck is actually a bird, too.

It comes under the same reasoning behind abbrevations. It's avoiding, but isn't a word that's considered as harsh as as the original word that's filtered. It will also look stupid to use it to swear when Hecktix has already suggested users will go straight for the F word if anger and frustration comes out, if you're blatantly using it to swear you will just get punished as usual, it's simple common sense really

Dictionary.com have a good definition of euphemism. Substituting a harsh word for a mild, indirect word.
