To my memory the times it's been shut down for bullying it's been older members (Beer/Lolly/Lee most prominently) who were the targets. I haven't actually seen much unpleasantness recently, possibly because any harsh words now get you cautioned, but any disliking of posts/members seems to be down to their personality not just their age

Well it ought to be, respect is something that you get from other people for your words and actions so if it's not reviewed and decided upon by other people I can't see what definition you can give to it

Absolutely. The "golden era" was when there were cliques and member hierarchies and less nonsense about how we're somehow all equal. I'm not saying we should encourage fighting and abuse or that such things would give any more life to the forum (although I guess it's quite possible), but to suggest people are being too mean NOW of all times for areas like spam to thrive is ridiculous

It's a community, hence a lot of different people. The departure of one person, or a group, might be sad and drastically change the dynamic, but unless its like 25-50% of the forum leaving and influxes pretty much stopped, life will go on, and the dynamic will continue to change around.
Well if this group make a sizeable chunk of the posts (or at least the good ones that make some others visiting the forum), then it is going to make a big difference even if the other 95% or whatever stay for the time being.
Bonjour, la noirceur, mon vieil ami
    Je suis venu te reparler
    Car une vision piétinante doucement
A laissé ses graines lorsque je dormais
    Et la vision
Qui était plantée dans mon cerveau
    Demeure toujours
    Parmi le son du silence

If you're worried about the forum having a lull, here's a simple tip; take it upon yourself to post more? Find things to talk about, interests you have, interests you are wanting to find out about. There's such a diverse group of people on here, there's likely to be someone who has even a slight interest in the topic.

There's also topics which can usually be repeated on a year-by-year basis. Looking at what Hoteluser has posted tonight (namedropping) in discuss anything, it's not an original topic, but it's one which can be used each year - hopefully with each year you'd find yourself changing a little and posting different things.

Is this thread seriously happening? This is like saying the economy is going to **** because sales in January are down on December, it only takes a bit of common sense. Posts decrease at this time of year for obvious reasons and increase in the Summer Holidays for related obvious reasons (Infact I'm sure if Oli got out one of his graphs about now of usage statistics that we'd be able to see peaks and troughs at the same points in the year... hmm)

Also if everyone in the spam forum stopped posting then the forum would still be fine because posts in spam have little to no effect on the posts outside of spam due to the nature of a spam forum so stop winging and claiming that spam is the only thing that's holding habbox together.

Someone didn't read the whole thread. The spam talk in this thread is just something that happened, the thread has nothing to do with spam holding habbox together
