But from what I have seen I'm unimpressed with the iPhone 4S, I thought it was going to be much bigger and hopefully the iPhone 5 or whatever it will be called will be a much bigger improvement. I know it will sell loads because they always do but I'm not urging to switch platform for it yet.
I mentioned Windows so it's only understandable that you come on to defend her honour

Anyways of course you're unimpressed. I could have told you you were unimpressed last week. You're Microsoft! But anyways I'm not. It has a great screen, it has a dual core processor and it has a great camera. Can't wait to pocket it

David, what the ****? I haven't even mentioned Windows or the word Microsoft. Re-read my post, thank you and goodnight.

If I hadn't mentioned Windows you wouldn't have replied in reference to me. Night

I seen the words "Windows 8" and thought here we go again. But either way you think I will dislike every single new Apple product, one day I may actually go and get myself an iPhone but I'm unimpressed with their new version. I was actually wanting bigger things from them because a new model was actually much needed as it had been quite a while since the iPhone 4 was first released.

Okay, then an actual multitasking interface with the ability to close applications 'should' come naturally but Android doesn't have this.

But those OSes don't matter because if you hate iOS so much shouldn't you insta-hate WebOS and WP7 since they do a lot less than iOS?

This is the most narrow minded aspect of your post. Every OS and every major software manufacture (Microsoft, Apple, Google and so on) feed off each other's ideas. Apple hasn't even done this to a crazy extent at all but I'm not surprised you commented. When Google made Facebook-Google you didn't say anything, but naturally since you superhate Apple you've mentioned it when Apple hasn't even stolen any direct features whatsoever. It's incredibly stupid for you to come into this thread just to say "these changes are nothing brand new to the tech world and Apple isn't innovative" because I can easily say exactly what you said about pretty much any company I want, and you've probably never used an iPhone, will never use iOS five and only said this because you clearly just hate Apple. On the correct side of things, Apple's going to make bucket loads of money from this device, this OS, and millions of iPhone users really want this phone. So yes, it kind of is a big thing.
And who are you to say what is innovative or not? It's a circular argument. Also, the bolded features are not innovative, they're just new to iOS as they're iOS features. Derrp :/ Voice recognition isn't anything new. Fact. And from the introduction video, Siri seems to be a gimmick that will either be irritating after a while or die out. I think the proof is in the reporting of the iPhone 4S too. Most news websites and companies are posting tiny articles about the release, and seem to be noticing the lack of anything game changing.

The rest is just some angry person avoiding the simple statement I made originally. This conference isn't showing off anything new to the tech world and is only of interest to people who use Apple products. The way Apple fans hyped this up I was expecting something interesting like with the iPhone 4 or iPad.

P.S. They blatantly copied the idea of Notifications. You're just saying stole to try and make me rile your feathers even though I never used the word stole - infact, you mentioned the notification bar before I did by the looks of things and went on to prove that it wasn't innovative of Apple to put it in iOS, but something that should be natural to all phone systems. Your words, not mine. It's not my fault you're making yourself angry, and your post above is proof of that

Ah, someone else unimpressed by this news. I was being attacked for stating my opinion on the lack of anything interesting with the new iPhone. It's a sin

I think Siri is being un-rated in this thread a bit, it's quite a bit more than voice recognition which Android has had (And the iPhone has had previously), it analyses what you say for organisation, queries etc. If I remember correctly the Android voice recognition can only be used to fill in forms / basic commands using specific words (From what I can tell Siri will support non-specific terms to perform actions).

Also, we can send cards... from our iphones... this is so cool.

You bought a Windows Phone Matt, no offense but I think you're never going to buy an iPhone but anyway that's your own decision so it doesn't really concern myself.

I'm not making myself angry, more just pointing out that your opinions or accusations against Apple are heavily biased around the fact that you simply just dislike Apple. I personally think you let this cloud your judgement completely - I think they could have released anything and you would have been quick to criticize it. I have noticed this as a common pattern with Apple threads and yourself

Iv'e owned every iPhone ever released and I will not be upgrading my current iPhone 4. I can't express my disappointment enough with the release of the newer model today. To me personally it just seems as if they've pulled this one out of the bag to continue with their 'New iPhone a year' release. Personally I think if they could have got away with it they would have not released a newer model this year and they would have just released the probably under development iPhone 5 (or whatever they're going to call it) sometime next year but because of all the apple fan boys wanting a new phone this year they have gone ahead and met demand. A lot of my friends who have iPhone's as well have also told me they're not going to bother with an upgrade.

Really? I want it just to get that dual core chip, seems like it would be worth it to me, hopefully they'll come out with a 5 and a redesign next year at this time.

I honestly thought this at first but in all honestly it's a phone. What are we going to need that chip for? The apps are all still going to work on both versions of the phone. We have iPad's/PC's to do the other high demand stuff for us. I just can't justify splashing all that cash on a new phone for an upgraded processor. Not for them to release a new phone in June/July anyway haha.
