I'm hardly missing the point by responding to it directly

He isn't talking about rivalry created by the artists themselves though. You can see it on forums like popoverdose where fans stick to one female artist and creates rivalries with fans of another female artist. The media always seems to heighten it as well. Like mags always pitted cheryl and danni against each other and creating tension that probably wasn't there.
Except you're talking about something completely irrelevant to what the thread is about
thank youuu, someone gets it lolHe isn't talking about rivalry created by the artists themselves though. is it really that hard to understand?

And they did the same with Simon/Louis and now Simon/Cheryl.He isn't talking about rivalry created by the artists themselves though. 2013 yay
Pretty sure that's not irrelevant to the discussion of media-influenced rivalries in pop music. In fact I'm fairly certain that it's entirely about that exact topicYou say that females are generally targetted over males but there's only one example that comes up apart from the MIA interview which was definitely not big news unless you're an avid MIA fan or one of those freaks who goes on a murder spree whenever the slightest word again Gaga is mentioned.
Well done for realising the other half of the post was completely irrelevant, and that's also completely wrong so congrats. The 'only other example' you claim there is was not comparable to what I'm talking about in the slightest

The one example was Britney vs Christina which you brought up. It really seems like you're just branding anyone with an opinion other than yours (ie: one that works with history and reasoning rather than baselessly following one view from an interview with a has-been) as being totally irrelevant to the topic when they're quite clearly very much related
So what recent examples do we actually have apart from the MIA thing that I had never heard about and the Bjork interview?
I always thought the media put emphasis on boyband rivalries. That definitely goes againt the viewpoint we are discussing.

Bjork is a has been? LOLThe one example was Britney vs Christina which you brought up. And two artists publicly bashing each other isn't related to the idea of the media and the public creating competition between women in pop music at all really, is it? Can you stop obsessively trying to discredit anything I say on this forum? Your **** is getting really old now, thanks
I'm not talking about huge front page news... Mostly online, people saying things like Katy Perry copied Ke$ha, Gaga copied Madonna, Katy thinks Gaga is cheap, Beyonce and Rihanna hate each other... Why all these fake rivalries trying to be created when all the women generally respect and like each other?
And I can't think of any media emphasis on boybands off the top of my head?
