    Without being too cynical it's because 1,443 * 7 = 10,101 (01 01 01) so when you multiply your age you're in essence multiplying by 1 but at different place values.

    (admittedly that probably wasn't the best way to phrase it, I don't really know how to explain maths well so maybe someone else could help me with that )

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who fails to be amazed at these because you can see how it's done. It really takes the fun out of it though
