They're there as a record but I highly doubt any manager would take them at face value anyway and will make decisions based on current behaviour and attitude rather than from a usernote you got 5 years ago

The system is when you break a rule you get a PM and the PM content is then copied into a usernote and is on your profile for other moderators to view. So that say you broke the rule again within 2 months then they can see that and advance to a warning/infraction.

Infractions and warnings are removed over time but it isn't often that they are removed. Last one wasn't long ago was it?

I don't think usernotes need to be deleted from your account because we only base our actions against you via the usernotes within the 2 month period.

I never got that? I got two straight infractions. One was 0 point, another was 1 I believe.

Usernotes aren't a punishment. It's just a way of the PM you get sent to be seen by other moderators and admins.

Depends on what you have done to be fair. If you got one that was 0 points then that must have been some sort of joke as there is no infraction with 0, unless we are talking ages ago.

There are all sorts of reasons why managers don't hire people. I would be surprised if it was because of your usernotes.

A usernote is kinda the same as a PM, it just shows that we've contacted you and it stops mods from PMing someone twice or issuing unfair infractions

I think usernotes dont really need to be deleted though, because usernotes can be good as well as bad, and it's literally just like a record of when a mod has PM'd you.

I really hope that makes sense, because Im not sure it does.

Oh and on your second bit, sometimes usernotes are removed/edited if a smod or admin thinks that they have been unfairly issued

To the people who have asked about user notes expiring: Sadly this isn't built into vBulletin by default. I also don't think there is a plugin for this but I'll ask as it may end up being a custom thing. No promises on it though...

It would be a lot of admin work if it was done manually. But ones from years ago should not harm anyone's chances of becoming a member of the moderator department.
