    They aren't used by commentators, they're used in the media. Mostly in newspapers and stuff 'The third seeded Scot was knocked out of blahblah' but then 'The first Brit to win a major grand slam since blahblah' - see the difference? It's not highly noticeable so I guess most people don't pay attention to it

    Oh right, I don't see what's bad. When I heard it on the news earlier they did say "the first Briton to win a grand slam in 76(?) years" but followed by "and the first Scot ever".
