I'm sorry but I can't see how it's more content then news really? It's not going to be full out long guides like content do just like explain how to get stuff and be done immediately/soon after it's released like news tend to do which is far more suited for news then content imo.

It is still very much a piece of news anyway other then it being more concise, it's about a new badge or whatever that's been released but just far more straight to the point. You do have the speed issue anyway with content definitely.

    someone enlighten me please lmao

This sounds like the best solution.

I'm assuming a lot more would apply if they could JUST write that sort of thing too, and yea we have about 8 people atm i think.
That's the thing though, I'm sure more people would apply for this new role. Since content currently only have very little staff, would it not be better for them to join content? If people are writing one form of content in these new guides, they may be interested in branching out into the other two areas of the content department. As I said before about the speed of things being posted, Sam and Intersocial are both in the content department already and they are the most active posters of news articles already (from what I saw on the last few pages of news) so it wouldn't really affect speed at all.

Because it's content and not news? Pretty simple really.

Also, worth noting that if the two departments did merge, there wouldn't be an issue right now

the same would be the case in the news department anyway they would apply for here instead and I doubt people would be very interested in writing news and writing wiki as from what we saw in the merge tbh lmao.

except that 1) it's news not content tbh, 2) the last time the merge happened it failed completely because people didn't enjoy doing both types if they wanted to do the other deps work they woulda already applied for it

I think you're missing the point I was trying to make. If it's a part of content and people start applying for it, it will increase the number of staff in the content department whereas news already has quite a healthy number of staff. Also, I'm in agreement with Kardan that they are more of a guide than an item of news. Okay it may be news that a new badge has been released which an article can be written about in the news category and then a guide can be written in the answers section, with a link leading to it from the news article.

It's not snuggly (sexy word) into either category, I don't see how "a person/reporter INVESTIGATING rooms on Habbo for answers/guides and then publishing them" is any less news than content?

Content will already have enough on their hands when it gets to v7 anyway - they will have to do wiki + v7 pages, and making them do quests on top is a bit much to ask. News reporters are used to going on Habbo (/into habbo news nd rumours ok) and looking for information to post in articles.

To say it doesn't suit news is ridiculous..

With the merge, why did people have to do both types? As I said before, quotas are a bit silly in my opinion

And how is it news? You don't see recipes on BBC News?

And @Intersocial; I'm not saying it suits news, as news could do this without any major issues, I'm just saying, it's content for the website, so... it's content It isn't 'news', the news would be that a badge is released, not a guide on how to get it

Those two are usually easily combinable. As shown in news and rumours threads where people say "follow this guide in x event and get this badge".

Wait I'm confused, are you arguing for it to be content purely because content is called "content" and not "news" then?

erm I did actually also suggest not having to have to do both but it was basically skynus who forced that through lmao.

the thing is I would assume we would be combining the news that "a new badge has been released" and the guide, making it all very concise as it seems a bit stupid to have the news of a new badge released separate really, in which case it most certainly is news.
