I'm just gonna be blunt here and just tell you to be quiet, stop and look at all the posts and attempt to see how stupid this is becoming.

Can I just point out, @Samanfa;, that you said "I said and I will still say they're different styles" yeah? So if they're different writing styles I will again emphasise my point that Guides were primarily done by content staff - which means, obviously, it's more of a 'content writing style' (because like you say there is such a distinct difference) which means that News staff are unable to write guides.

    We'll leave this debate there.

I don't mind you saying that at all, I was just talking about the current news staff, in the future it would be more suited to content I never disputed that.

This gives people the chance to choose if they want to work in that department as well though? All your important news issues to tackle seem to be things a manager has to tell people to improve - not the people themselves.

And has everyone forgotten that some people (i.e. people in content and people in news) are capable of switching writing style. It's not a fixed thing you know... if it was then I would be bewildered how anyone could pass GCSE English.

the thing is they are going to be nothing like content design guides, no length descriptions of stuff, no edited videos or gifs or anything, they'd be much more in the style of news with reporting the release of something new in a sentence or two and a description of how to do it step by step. so really they aren't anything like content guides to claim that lmao

So then please tell me the logic of giving it to News staff right now when it will just later be transferred to Content? Waste of time if you ask me - or is this the point; to waste time?

Then going full circle, news does not have the capacity to take on guides.

I am trying to prove a point, as well as state my opposition to it.

@Samanfa; well i think the admin side should probably pick up now me hayden and ryan are all off exams at least now which is hopeful lmao.
Yes it has, international usually takes priority and I told you plenty of times.

For the people who just want to work in there but not news/content yes. Because if a person were to join content just to do guides, I'd imagine they'd have to do wiki work and site work as well (when v7 is out) which they might not enjoy. Likewise if a person was forced to join news to do guides, they'd might not like the full news writing style and just want to write a guide once in a while.

And who manages them, Inkwell or Skynus or a new person altogether? This reminds me of the merge.

Neither would content when v7 arrives? Wiki/Site pages/Guides would be demanding as well.
