    The issue is, even if you got rid of the virus you don't know what backdoors it has opened. I actually remember one virus which did the opposite, it used an exploit to get into a system and then patched the exploit so it was harder to detect and remove and also harder for other viruses (e.g. botnet competition) to take control of the system.
