In fairness, I would argue that the average consumer is more stupid for buying a £600 'smart' watch. People who buy £13,000 watches are typically very, very wealth (hey, people often pay well in excess of $500,000 - some even go above $1,000,000).

Exactly, and all that does is tick!

It's pricey A) because of the brand and B) because of the materials on the better models.

If I got one, I'd probably go for the sport. They look pretty good and it's the exact same technology in the cheapest one as it is in the most expensive ones.

I'm not fussed for all the gold and stuff in an apple watch particularly. I don't know how much I'd like it anyway as I think i'd look like a bit of a power ranger!!! but I do want one

I cannot get my head around it, still, though. If they said this is the replacement for the Air, I'd get it. But the Air is cheaper, more powerful and still insanely thin and light.

I see the new Macbook more as a proof of concept, that can be used to make extra cash (not bashing them for that - that is just how it looks!).

This new MacBook doesn’t exist to be a powerhouse or an all-day workhorse for the geeks. Not at all; it exists to be the go-to device for people that lug around their laptops all day and don’t care about specs as long as their computer does what they want it to do.

Trial run to see how many they can sell? I've seen some people say they are getting one but maybe they are the sort of people who really feel the difference in weight between MacBook and the MacBook Air? I'm not quite sure.

I know we will see this new Type-C connector on products over the next few years and not just Apple. But If they got rid of all of the ports and left one on the MacBook Pro range then a lot a people are going to be pissed.

Don't get me wrong, I love nice expensive watches!! Infact when I find aload of money, I'm getting a Rolex!

The MacBook is really very pretty, but it's not practical at all for a lot of users. I will stick with the MacBook Pro for now. Oh and I do not like the watch at all. I don't like the physical design and the UI isn't anything special either. I think anyone buying into the first generation should think twice, unless they have another 300 quid to sink into the apple watch 2 next year.

It's amazing to look back at computers and their prices from 10-15 years ago and the computers of today. That new macbook is ridiculously thin. Whilst the watches aren't my sort of thing it's exciting that we're beginning to see the arrival of integrated and wearable technology with these smart watches as well as google glass. I can't wait to see what technology will be like in another 10 to 15 years.

Is it me or are they missing vital information like approximate battery life? Also, £13,000 for a watch? That's shocking and worryingly some people are that weird to buy one for that much

There are watches which sell at a price upwards of £100,000. Whilst it's expensive for plebs like us there are people that can easily afford to spend that on a watch so it's not really weird or shocking, just Apple catering to the upper echelons of their target market. I doubt they actually expect to sell many from that price range.

The only thing I would say about the £13,000 watch is that I question whether someone with the cash would go for an Apple "Watch Edition", as opposed to an exceptionally good timepiece from Tag, Rolex, Dior etcetera. It is a bit like cars and the talk of tech companies getting in on cars - it just doesn't make sense to me.
