You know what, I actually misread this. It's completely doable but completely stupid. Should we make toilet paper free? Where would it stop lmao

Of course they shouldn't be free: I have to pay for tissues for a cold (and er other things) and toilet paper.

On the other hand VAT has been mentioned. And sure, if there's a case/demand to remove VAT then perhaps.. At the moment we're unable to do that due to VAT being an EU tax, but in a couple of years we can keep/scrap or higher/lower VAT to anything we like.

The real answer is money & toilet roll is dirt cheap and used by everyone. Introduce "free" tampons and prices will increase. Would it be fair I have to pay more so you get "free" tampons?

You sure that isn't change.org? I don't think the government one actually sends similar ones out. I could be wrong but I haven't seen them myself.

well boys let me tell ya tampons are not cheap

how about we let you have a say when you're the one who consistently bleeds from your privates and experiences crippling cramps for 7 days of the month, forking out a tenner for tampons each month is the icing on the cake

The real answer is money & toilet roll is dirt cheap and used by everyone. Introduce "free" tampons and prices will increase. Would it be fair I have to pay more so you get "free" tampons?

all a company needs to do is buy a box of tampons and put in their toilets (restaurant, public parks etc) and potentially save the dignity of women?? would have been nice for 14 yr old me who got my first ever period at a public park to have had that instead of having to cycle a mile home with my male friends wondering why (cause am gna bleed through my pants!!), would be pretty cheap since it only happens every so often with women, wouldn't be replacing it as much as toilet paper.
