Yeah. The only time you have to be older is on friday, saturdays and I think it's sundays too, you have to be 21 after 6pm.

Its 18 they cannot refuse you alcohol if you have legit id and are 18. 18 is the law if they suspect it to be a fake id then they have every reason not to serve you.

If that was correct you wouldnt be allowed clubbing or out drinking until your 21 on fridays saturdays and sundays and i know you can.

They do it in rough areas to stop underage drinking. Most 16 year olds have mates that are 18/19 so they just get them to buy booze for them. I know that's what we used to do.

Actually they can refuse to sell you alcohol despite that you look old enough, you have legitimate ID and you demand it. They reserve the right to refuse you alcohol if they believe it will contribute to illegal drinking or aid in committing any other offence.

If you're buying it from ASDA you can't be with anyone who is under 18 or doesn't have ID.

yeah that happened to me in Sainsburys.. they wouldn't serve me because my mate who was with me looked underage.. (he didn't have ID) they refused to serve me :|

Never had this experience. But say someone looked about 15 and I went into a supermarket with his dad. Would they refuse to sell it to him because of his son?

If someone is 18-21 and goes in with a 16-17 year old then they normally refuse.
