Minus Repping

If someone continues to abuse the reputation system by reissuing -reps that have been removed then they do get warnings regarding it.

Sorry but is that meant to be some kind of insult? Coming from someone whos always sticking up for their department and just assuming they are always right about everything, that is really quite rich. Just consider how on earth it is fair that people can just -rep people they dislike with no valid reason, surely it's them who are taking the reputation too seriously anyway not the people reporting it.

I don't recall him tagging Samanfa in it? I don't recall him naming her name? I just remember him mentioning an event. Don't forget that he could have been talking about one of the hosts in the game it's self, as there was more than one.

He badmouthed an event, not a person specifically, therefore he wasn't rude to staff.

Jan, I think you're taking minus rep a little bit too far. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day and you're just taking it to heart because you want your rep power to go up lol. Think you need to calm down and not worry if you're repped or not.

Not me personally as loads, oops if i said that, but i meant in general, people have been saying when asked that they get tons of it that is just constanlty ignored, + yes you say you have sorted it, but it still remains and i refuse to believe that both of them are worthy of not being removed, can maybe understand georgias one but the other?

Assuming I'm always right? Please. I'm trying to let you know that there isn't anything wrong with the current reputation system and report method. The only pointless reputations I can see valid for removal are rude ones, or targeting ones that are purposely being given to reduce count. I can't see this happening to many people, and if it was I am sure they have been reporting it correctly as no problem has been noticed. You are making a thread with a problem with someones opinion that you dislike, that is common in life and I don't see that it should be removed because you don't agree with what someone else see's.

In all honesty, if you take reputation that serious on this forum then you really need to think again. Why do you need high reputation, why do you worry that you might never reach a certain number?

Doubt you would be saying that if you had a person with a high rep constantly -repping even your good and constructive posts.
As for Tom and Dave, loads of your posts were rude and unnecessary in the staff forums. Hence why Mathew's reply received a lot of plus rep.

it would seem that some people are jumping on the bandwagon with you about pointless -reps but when it comes down to it haven't even bothered to follow through in terms of actually reporting them. if you want a pointless -rep removedtehn report it and argue your case adequately.

I think the -rep system is abused often. I get -repped on a daily basis for no reason. The reason stated is usually something like 'shut your stupid mouth' (this -rep reason was given by a forum moderator) etc. When I reported all my pointless -rep, nothing was actually done as far as I'm aware.

This is probably a mad idea, but maybe its possible to get a new small dept or something, or more forum moderators, and all -rep is checked before the user actually receives it?

maybe don't post stupid things or be rude to others then?

anyway, why does it matter that much? it's rep, boohoo. i've got loads of pointless rep and it doesnt bother me.
