Completely understandable. But now I'm wondering how many user notes I have. LOLAllowing users to see their own user notes is impractical. It would cause many arguments and nobody would want to be a forum moderator anymore because they would cause 100 arguments a day by simply moderating the forum.
Beaides, you absolutely do not need to see your usernotes in order to appeal moderation decisions to the forum manager or to Matt himself.
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.” ― A.A. Milne
I don't understand the point of this thread, usernotes are simply a record of your past behavior for moderators/admins and as such have no impact on your "life" on the forum. I have some pretty embarrassing usernotes but honestly, I don't care because they don't impact me in any way.
They're kept so if you end up being banned or some serious rule is broken like racism etc then we have a record of it.
It wouldn't affect any other job, seeing as only moderators/admins can see usernotes. Moderation jobs have separate guidelines - you're only held accountable for what happened recently, not forever.
I don't understand why people want to be able to see/remove usernotes. It's not like we have a "x usernotes and you're banned" rule, so why does it really matter? If you get multiple infractions you're banned, then they are removed.
