    Personal preference. I like the classic ThinkPad look on my laptop. I think the Acer's new style is chunky, and just ugly.

    You could certainly run Red Alert on an EEE. You cannot make assumptions about the device without using it. The EEE's SSD does make the device substantially faster, not to mention the fact that you can safely clock the EEE to 990Mhz.

    It appears that Acer have made one of these, I think it may be the "eee-killer".

    Yeah, I've been watching that, the Dell make, HP and MSI remakes too. It's called the subnote war. Many companies are competing to release the best. The Acer's release has the nice sized keyboard, and it's only a bit larger than the EEE701. However disliking Acer laptops due to overheating, and week LCDs seem to be the general consensus around subnote forums.

    I heard of the Acer Aspire One, I think I might get one once i have read some reviews coz it looks good

    And Overheating? I have had 3 Acers before my currect laptop and none of them ever overheated. lol

    I want to get the 8gb solid state hard drive version with linux
    They say that the linux version also lasts a few hours longer on the battery than XP.
