Can you suggest the best places to go and what to take with me

You need to do your tasks :p. Only way to get it up .

So you cant kill anything you like?

and where is it best to kill shades? I have to kill 61

Nope, you can't just kill a random slayer monster and get slayer xp. You have to kill the slayer monster the Master gives you :]

To fight any of them just bring your normal training stuff and food :]

Just continue to train like you did before.
Go to a guy in edgeville dungeon if you haven't done that before to get some good tasks.
