It's okay I've manage to revert my update so I can go back to the server.

Quick Guide.

Go to your .minecraft folder, copy the change the name of the bin files to something else then download this (http://www.fileplay.net/f/12487/mirrors#mirror-top) rar, Extract its contents and copy the bin folder into your .minecraft folder.

You could try loading minecraft now but might auto update.

Download This (http://www.mediafire.com/?339g06xds3c0g61) Launcher (Thanks for Wiizz)

Then download this (http://www.mediafire.com/?lu7bjizr41gejjv) file, copy it into your new Bin Folder.

The server ISNT updated yet, because theres no Hmod for 1.2 yet.
If you want to play, Use last patches Minecraft.jar. But keep every other file in The BIN Folder the latest.

This update affects both the client and the server, but the server update isn’t mandatory. I highly suggest updating, though.
* Fixed various blocks acting really weird when placed (rails, torches, and more)
* Optimized performance
* Added a new painting that we forgot to include yesterday
* Reduced spawn rates a bit
* Fixed a whole pile of lighting bugs
* No more ghosts at night
* Added a temporary fix to get rid of chunk visibility errors
The last one is interesting.. The problem with chunk visibility errors was that for some reason the “dirty” flag on chunks and the list of “dirty chunks” got out of synch. There wasn’t time to try to do a proper fix today, so I just made the client check a couple of dirty chunks per frame to make sure they’re in the list.
So until we fix it proper, you might get invisible chunks, but they will fix themselves after a second or two, usually way before you even get close to them.

This host is fine, it's just going down because a plugin is making the Minecraft server software freeze, I'm disabling them one by one to try and figure out which.

I have a sneaking suspicion it's Cuboid or just a crappy Minecraft BETA bug :l :(

Hey0 is officially dead and will not be updated. A community effort is going on to update hey0 (called kMod, has major bugs like not being able to place any blocks) and there is no release date for Bukkit. For AT LEAST a few days we're crap outta luck.

Keep in mind that they do require arrows to be put in, so unless someone spends a lot of time gathering arrows (which they cant even pick up after its been launched) i very much doubt they're gonna place them anywhere on the map. Also the fact you can just run upto it and destroy it :p

and i swear no one even uses minecarts except for stuto. I think that dyes will add A LOT of variety to our rather plain looking wood + cobblestone town.

my downgraded minecraft takes about 3-10 restarts (have to close it with taskmanager) to join the server because it freezes when I click to connect

I doubt it will be upgraded in a few days, we're no longer waiting on a patch for hMod (They've given up on it, its not getting patched). We are now waiting on LWC (chest protection). LWC needs to be able to work on Bukkit but currently Bukkit doesn't support anything to do with the inventory of players. That means we're waiting of the dev team to code that in to bukkit, and then to release it so LWC can then be upgrade.

1- Continue as we are now and waiting for the updates with many people not able to access the server
2- Revert to the wayback server to keep more people entertained until the updates arrive
3- Update the server without hey0 and chest protection and forcing people to defend their stuff/keep valubles in their carried inventories when loggin off
4- Please give any more ideas you might have

Backup the current game, then update, turn on tnt, pvp, everything then when lwc comes back revert to the backup!

Yep we did, based in Germany now. Your byte error is because you upgraded and we haven't yet, and generally too long to login is a minecraft.net site problem.

Then what do we do when the updates do happen? Lose everything we've done between now and then or overwrite regardless of what's happened? If the first then there's no point at all going on to do any work and you might as well play a different server, and if the second then sure have fun complaining when your stuff gets raided

LWC is now being ported to Bukkit and they have a basic chest protection system, I should think we'll be able to upgrade at the weekend! :)
