Really looking forward to it.

Here's some stuff I've Heard

The Silence isn't a person but a race, one than can live outside of time and space

We will learn about Riversong's past - Interestingly SM (Producer) has asked the question to viewers, how did Riversong remember the doctor when he we deleted from history - she went and gave the book to Amy

I dont think the end of the series plot will be big, the main plot will be the episode before the split and will continue to part two.

When he said hello he sounded like solid snake.

Anyway I would like to issue a complaint to the BBC as that monster is to his right not behind him and it will grossly mislead children and dim teens and adults. Lol jk.

Anyway preview looked cool, is the episode normal length? Or is it an hour? Either way I can't wait, didn't think the american one would be the first episode tbh and the series just seems to be getting stuck straight in :D

Also, in The Prequel, Is it just me , or does it feel that The President knows the monsters behind him,

I think it looks more like a classic american rosewell alien more then anything,

Don't really thing David would return even for one scene in the next series, As its onlys matts second series, it needs to stand alone, The first series was all about introducing The new Doctor and seeing what he'd be like, The second will be, Getting into The New Doctors Character and exploring him more. If David would return, more then likely for the 50th anniversary.

High rumors of Omega will return, If you freeze in the trailer in the part of Davids Face you can see a sort of like face,

Picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43707468@N03/5577347266/ - Also the force what took control of The TARDIS could be Omega as he is one of the only superior beings in gallifrey that can control other TARDIS's He's the one who fire produced The TARDIS's he known how to get the Time Lords to travel in time ect

Also This is suppodsley a picture of what The Silents ( The Silence ) look like! http://www.flickr.com/photos/43707468@N03/5576823709/

In the screenie with Omega, is that rory? Also stexual did you mean if you froze in Davids TARDIS? :L But yeah that does look like Omega. Tbh I just want to see how River links in with all of this, I mean we know she doesn't die and this probably isn't the last time we see her as in the trailer she knows about him and what's happening, I wonder how she meets him for the first time.

Second (Eccleston's/Tennant's): http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/8430/tardis3.png
Third (perhaps one from the extra floor of Amy's house?): http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/45/tardis2l.png
Fourth (looks a tad like the one from The Lodger): http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6943/tardis4.png

Amy's Cubard's are blue I think?

On the subject of TARDIS's Can't remember what episode, but an episodes called The Doctors Wife.

If you think of it, The TARDIS is the only thing whats always stayed with The Doctor, he talks to it, strokes it, probably does more, Anyway, Suppdosley An episode is when, The TARDIS lands in a junk yard, and Amy and Rory are trapped, thats why in a trailer there was an ood chasing Amy and Rory in A TARDIs Corridor, Anyway Its been highly Rumoured that The TARDIS's Soul or w.e Goes into a human called a Character called Idris, ( the character name has already been confirmed )

If this has already been posted then oops but I didn't know

Someone is going to die (A MAIN CHARACTER)

One of the main characters from 'Doctor Who' is set to die in the new series, its creator has revealed.

'Doctor Who' head writer Steven Moffat said in Doctor Who magazine that the character due to leave in the opening show will be either the Timelord (Matt Smith), Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) or River Song (Alex Kingston).

He commented: "We're not lying, we're not cheating. One of those four people is going to die. The Doctor's darkest hour is coming. Shows like ‘Doctor Who’ should have big colourful, memorable moments that make you go, 'What the hell?' Well, this is one of them."

And while it’s still unclear which of the show's regulars will bow out, here’s what we do know so far about the upcoming series…

Speaking at a launch event at London's Olympia, Moffat revealed that the opening episode of the new season will be the darkest and scariest one yet.

He said: "We've been pretty dark before in 'Doctor Who'. But we're coming in from the dark side just because we haven't done it that way before", adding, "First of all, you make 'Doctor Who' frightening to appeal to children. It's the children who find it frightening, not the adults, and children absolutely rank 'Doctor Who' stories in order of frightened-ness - that's what it's about. You put the jokes in and the silly bits in for the adults and you put the scary bits in for the kids."

The new series, which kicks off on BBC One on 23 April, will see the Timelord head to 1960s America together with sidekicks Amy Pond, Rory William and River Song.

In the two-part season opener – made up of episodes 'The Impossible Astronaut' and 'Day of the Moon' – the quartet find themselves helping President Nixon chase a mysterious astronaut and fight aliens.

The new series, which features guest appearances from stars including Lily Cole and James Corden, will for the first one to be split into two parts. The first seven episodes will be shown this spring, while the last six will air in the autumn. A massive cliffhanger will keep fans guessing all summer.

Who do you think is going to leave 'Doctor Who' for good? And should the series really be darker?...

Bearded Doctor is in the first episode, only one reason for him being there.

Moff details "One of the main characters will die."

All adds up, along with the plot synopsis released by the BBC:

Episode 6.01 – The Impossible Astronaut
Four envelopes, numbered 2, 3 and 4, each containing a date, time and map reference, unsigned, but TARDIS blue. Who sent them? And who received the missing number one? This strange summons reunites the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River Song in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor’s friends must never reveal to him.

Placing his life entirely in their hands, the Doctor agrees to search for the recipient of the fourth envelope – just who is Canton Everett Delaware the Third? And what is the relevance of their only other clue: ‘Space 1969′? Their quest lands them – quite literally – in the Oval Office, where they are enlisted by President Nixon himself to assist enigmatic former-FBI agent Canton, in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman.

Episode 6.02 – Day of the Moon
The Doctor is locked in the perfect prison. Amy, Rory and River Song are being hunted down across America by the FBI. With the help of new friend and FBI-insider, Canton Everett Delaware the Third, our heroes are reunited to share their discoveries, if not their memories. For the world is occupied by an alien force who control humanity through post-hypnotic suggestion and no one can be trusted. Aided by President Nixon and Neil Armstrong’s foot, the Doctor must mount a revolution to drive out the enemy and rescue the missing little girl. No-one knows why they took her. Or why they have kidnapped Amy Pond…

No doubt the companions and River will have to deal with time can be rewritten versus 'not one line!'

Maybe they have good reason for the Doctor to die.

I dunno,

we're in for something.

I haven't heard any of this stuff of 'future doc' or what ever, some one explain it all?

Basically, this series is all about ensuring the Doctor (beardy weirdy seen in the trailer) doesn't happen to present Doctor. My theory is it's all a ruse with River Song involved to try and turn the Doctor into doing something evil, thinking it'll prevent his death.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpe1Ywz8azM

"You're going to have to do what we tell you and you can't ask why."

Instructions from beardy weirdy to find the envelopes in the first two episodes, clones are involved in episodes six and seven. I'm pretty sure that this all points towards something spectacularly brilliant, if the whole 'Silents' is involved as well.

"I think The Silence are one of the greatest monsters of recent years and certainly one of the scariest," reveals Matt Smith."They're also very clever and I love the fact they've been silently working since the dawn of time to make The Doctor come unstuck."
Matt is talking about the new breed of monster which viewers will be introduced to in the opening two episodes of the series. He is remaining tight-lipped about what viewers can expect but he does offer some insights into the story arc for this series."Steven has a grand plan and some of the seeds he planted in the last series start coming to fruition and affecting the characters in drastic ways," explains Matt."Every character is faced with the most seismic and high-stakes choices we've seen so far." this is what matt says

Some people have been speculating that there has been hints of the silents being around them other than the obvious ones. For example in The Big Bang in the scene where Amy is with little Amy, there appears to be cloaked figures behind the sarcophagus (this could just be to hold it up) but when the camera is panning to the right a dark figure moves out of the way.

Other hints include characters staring off into the distance with an extremely worried look in their face in episode 1 and does the same in the Lodger.

Yeah, best time would be 7PM though, 6 is a bit early.

Cybus design, is the worst design ever to change a monster in Doctor Who, It made the Cybermen, not scary.
Example, Tomb Of The Cybermen, great story with Patrick Throughton, they actually scared me.

Daleks are over used, too much as a centric villain, in new who, They are over used, its why theres non in series 6.

I wouldn't say the same about the Cybermen in new who though, They've been there, but no actual good stories, I think they where shown best in The Next Doctor ( apart from the big cybermen ship, tottaly stupid )

But If the cybermen where used on a bigger scale, with more better storylines, they could work good.

I think they're just a bit useless all together haha, they're just like the way family guy defines the clones in star wars, they have weapons but always miss, they've discovered how to place a human brain into a usable suit of armor, yet the suit of armor can't run, and can't shoot for ****, it's a bit of a downgrade from a human to a cyberman. I'd be more terrified if they replaced them with intelligent chavs.

Same, I find them mega dull now. I also agree with the angels, I rather they just stayed in blink when they were somewhat scary. They were not at all in the newer ones and I find that episode quite crap in comparison to blink.

Anyway I don't get why they couldn't redesign them completely, what's the point just getting rid of the C and sticking to the same design when the daleks have changed, and for the worst in my opinion. They changed the wrong monster design lol.

I don't think the problem with the daleks is that they were every series as such, but series 1, 2, 4 and 5 finales had daleks in them and the fact every dalek story is basically the same.

Also I agree about Amy as a character, along with pretty much everything you said about characters. The material they get is bad, not the actors. ...Catherine Tate’s acting chops shine oh so bright in this episode, as we’re treated to a “What if?” reality in which the most interesting things happen. The Doctor dies aboard the space-Titanic thing seen in Voyage of the Damned and we’re treated to seeing just what would happen. It’s a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful piece of acting from Tate and a true show-off of Davies’ writing ability....

I dunno, I think Eccleston's timelord with a deathwish is better than Tennant's Timelord without Rose. I love both of them, but Eccleston just gets to me more when it comes to the serious scenes.

Rose is just useless in Series 4, shoved in because the fans wanted her back and it retconned the whole of Doomsday. Shame. They killed Ianto in the Torchwood Mini-Series, Children of Earth, and that was a damn good bloody good damn show. After reading your blog yesterday I decided it would be a good idea to watch some of Eccleston's episodes again and I am inclined to agree, (I actually forgot how good those episodes were) I've also watched a lot of films with him in it recently and actually forgot who good of an actor he is (Bloody magnificent actor by the way, especially when you can hear his accent properly... sexy accent that is).

Rose is just useless in Series 4, shoved in because the fans wanted her back and it retconned the whole of Doomsday.
I mostly hate the fact that they added a kind of super heroesque kind of feel to the character (Although they always do that every-time they bring a character back, the only time they've done it properly is with Sarah Jane. It might be because they try desperately not to portray them as the Assistant again because they're not taking permanent residence) and then spent tons of scenes of explaining to other characters who she was which was just a painful waste of time. That and Billie Piper is a terrible actor.

They killed Ianto in the Torchwood Mini-Series, Children of Earth, and that was a damn good bloody good damn show. There's been shouts from fanboys to bring back Ianto but Davies has learned his lesson and not bringing him back, so to preserve the effect of Children of Earth.Ianto was one of my favourite characters (In fact Torchwood is one of my favourite series from the BBC because it's basically Doctor Who with more sci-fi and less dumbed down stuff fro children) and was always one of those slightly less important characters that always outperformed the more important characters.

. He also decides to base some episodes around Amy Pond, a plot device,
Series 1: Rose was used as a plot device at the ending
Series 4: Donna was used a a plot device at the end as-well (And even Martha was used a Plot Device sort of in the first of the episodes she was in)

She’s dumb when the plot demands it, emotive when the plot demands it and clever when the plot needs it.It's been that in every series (Except the second) because the Assistant has to start dumb and progressively get smarter, although I will say that they were slightly sporadic with the smartness dumbness spread with Amy which made it slightly more obvious (Like with the Space Dolphin episode, dumb for the entire thing except for the last 20 seconds)

OK I dont mind the short skirts and anything else ****** clothes wise
I don't think there's a male on this planet who doesn't mind the short skirts.

I don't think I will like any form of doctor romance for a while since series 2.
I wish they'd played out the romance thing with River Song a bit more myself, I think it could have worked out quite well, especially if they keep this theme of her not being on the Tardis the entire time (Don't want them cluttering up the episodes with loads of scenes of kissing).

I felt when Rose became a plot device, it was more effective given her ties to the Doctor and him knowing what was going to happen. She was a device, and he couldn't stop that.

Series 4's finale is just one big massive joke to the fans. Martha was just awful in the first half of Series 3.

I agree. I just don't think Amy progresses at all as a character and is... ungrateful when she has Mr Cool Rory AND the Doctor, yet she happily just jumps around and flirts and then becomes smart and I love Rory etc.

Even if she IS the TARDIS, that still doesn't live up to the level of intrigue that Moffat has pushed through after literal years of Who. Personally I think she's the Rani, but that's just speculation.

Series Three: Martha goes away
Series Four: Donna goes away, Rose goes away (again)
Specials: Tennant goes away
Series Five: The Doctor goes away twice, Amy goes away twice, Rory goes away twice, River Song goes away.

Away = die/leave, including all the sequences in Amy's Choice and Cold Blood.

Once people die so often, it loses the effect, like the atomic bomb sequence/character death in Call of Duty 4 repeated three times in MW2. Might be why I don't like Series Five at all.

I enjoyed (and mostly agreed) with your ramblings about the dr. who episodes up untill this instalment, i believe you are completley wrong about torchwood in everyway possible. With torchwood its more about connecting with the characters, i can never connect with these characters (on Dr. Who) as they never show any emotion nor is there a fear that one of them will die (no main character in dr who has ever died) wheras in new who, you generally fear for a characters well being. There hasn't been a more emotional scene IMO in new who / torchwood or jane adventures that when tosh and owen die, tosh doesn't want owen to know shes been shot and they die without getting that date that the storyline was leading up to.

So ya, i agree with your opinions on the dr. who episodes but you went off the ball when you rambled on about torchwood.

YEY!

I love river song. She is such a mystery and its fun to have someone who knows the doctors future around to make us all wonder what will happen.

The Christmas episode was a bit sentimental but I liked the idea of someone's past being changed right in front of there eyes and how you would end up with two "pasts" .
My favourite episode was flesh and stone. Mainly just for A. Epic weeping angels and B. THE DIFFERENT SUIT PLOT THAT WAS JUST SO EPICALLY AWESOME!

Would it be better with a giant cyberman roaming the town...

Also why would the daleks revert? They spent a whole episode converting them and spent money to buy at least 5 new suits they might aswell use them. Also they're probably a bit nicer for operators as theyre probably more spacious.

Cwmbran

If there was enough complaints they would revert them regardless of what they spent on the costumes or if it was more spacious for the operators. Everyone I've talked to about them really dislike the brightly coloured ones.

I've seen the old ones irl, even if they're small they're still scarier than the epilepsy gang.

I think a lot of it is due to the fact a lot of kids watch it too. Moffat said in an interview that this series is going to be more scary, so hopefully it's going to be good :)

Will be interesting to see who River Song is, I can't see her being the doctors wife as that's too obvious and there's always a twist.

Apparently one of the main characters is going to die, but Amy is in the following episodes, Rory had died already and we already know how River dies and it wouldn't be Doctor Who without the doctor.

I wonder what this is, looks similar to regeneration :P

It would poo up the line of events. He can never find out who she (Or it even) is until the time is right or they might not even meet which would most likely Really screw up what has happened. Amy would be dead ( River teleported her to safety in flesh and stone.) God knows what would happen in the big bang episode . River would not have exploded the tardis so,complicated stuffs would happen.
I think River does not kill the doctor. She says she kills the best man she ever knew , well the doctor isn't a man,he is a timelord. As for what river is well I have no ideas! Lol

He could've found out who she was at the end of The Big Bang cos he had her diary. I think there's a part of him that quite likes trying to piece the mystery together. That's basically what the Doctor does every episode :P

If they give it all away, like too much, then it will probably ruin the series as there needs to be something that keeps people hooked e.g. the cracks got people wondering what was going on and people watched throughout to find out.

I think if you revealed all of it, it would be too much at the beginning. We simply need hints throughout the series building up to a big finale/reveal

The Van Gogh episode wasn't half bad in my eyes, it's just the choreography of the show seems to have went a bit down hill in parts like fighting / running / defending.

They need to lay off the CGI too it's cheap and tacky, Dr Who is known for its bad ass costume designs, so stop taking the easy road you lazy *******s.

sophiethenerd

Anyway I read in the sun (yes, bad source but still) that each episode costs 1m, I mean blimey. They have to get lost of merchandise cash to pay for it but this confuses me when bluray discs are mega expensive but they packaged 5 or 6 into last series box set.

Also what are they doing to tribute Liz? I heard they were doing something but can't remember what. Also in the Sun again was Tom Baker writing a tribute article to her, he looks well weird compared to the younger him.

LOL The Sun.

Don't believe "£1million" for a second. You wonder why they had to hire some young pretty looking actors and actresses to fill the boots of Tennant and company? Smith is being paid half of what Tennant earned and Karen around half of what the average companion would get for three series. The series itself has had its budget cut and cut throughout the years and I'd expect it to carry on getting cut. The likes of Midnight and Boom Town were written and filmed to save moneys. Last series it was the same with the Van Gogh episode, which is one of my favourites of all time.

But it's still a bit of a cop out when you name the episode after vampires, and they end it with them well, being not vampires. It's ****** writing in all honesty.

The BBC give them £700,000 per episode, but they cost £1 million to make. So they need to sell merchandise to get more money. Every series there's been an episode that doesn't have more than one location or lots of props or had great CGI. Moffat said he could spend Avatars budget easily.

Although, it's the budget that cause the team to be creative. They only made the tardis a police box to save budget in the original.

It wasn't one of the best episodes and maybe Vampires would have been better but in a sense it did give something different. I found it hilarious when people claimed on IMDB after seeing the next week trailer, it was a rip off of twilight. Today's youth eh

Someone just explain to me what the hell happened.

I find it funny how Amy is now a consistent character, it only took a marriage and a scary alien.

I'll forgive you Moffat when you tell me RIVER IS AMY'S CHILD AAHHHHHH. AND THE DOCTOR KNOCKED HER UP YO.

That would be totally awesome if that happened :L!

If river song was the Doctors child, wouldn't he recognize her name?

Unless he turns up on Jeremy Kyle next week to explain why he doesn't know his own childs name

Because i'm pretty positive the killing of children is banned, unless the child is a monster taking a form of a child, which then its ok to show.

Thought: I can forgive Moffat when he pushes the show in the way of LOST ("TUNE IN NEXT WEEK CLIFFHANG CLIFFHANG CLIFFHANG ETC.") when it's not a massive mystery or something that's just outright teasing.

EDIT: Watching the Lisbeth Sladen tribute on CBBC, choking up, saddening. I want to re-watch The Sarah Jane Adventures now and go back to Pertwee.

Could never get into lost, looked like I'm a celebrity get me out of here with creepy perverts.

As you can tell by that you probably know I didn't watch many of them.
