No i don't think it does i used to think it did but now after meeting someone way older then me i don't think it does although alot of people still do if they were put in a position where the person they liked was much older or younger i don't think they would let it get in the way or what they think they could have !

Where as if a 19 year old was dating a 24 year old, I'd see that as completely fine, because they should both be mature enough, and it just seems...right? Like they're both adults, making their own choices. But with the 13 year old, she wouldn't know what she truly wanted, if you understand what I mean?

But for me as a person, I'd only date someone 1 year older than me, anymore and I'd feel weird, I can't explain it, I'd just feel uncomfortable to be going out with the person.
    I agree

[Sorry if your 12 and your reading this] but a 19 year old, may influence the 12 year old to do naughty things which is bad and wrong. If the relationship isn't all about sex ect. and showing kids bad things, then I would say its not very bad...

I think i put the wrong age group because i was a well mature 12 yearold but im sorry if any of you take offence to what i put .

    +Rep please

Why have people voted that age doesn't matter when every single one of you has said "no, BUT...."

If there's an exception then yes, you do think it matters. If you didn't then you'd be fine with old people sticking things in babies

I think it does matter when you're in your teenage years, for reasons that interests are just so different and it is normally viewed as 'desperation' etc etc. All these pre-perecieved things. However, I'd say once your over 20, it's not so much of a crucial factor.

Yeah it does. Good point Grig.
It would look so wrong if you went out with 9/10 years old boy cos you're 14/15 right?

In your teen years, yes it matters. A lot. Once you're about 19 or so, (as long as you're not going out with someone 3-6 years YOUNGER than you because, ew), it doesn't matter so much.
If you're freaking out because your boyfriend or girlfriend is one year older or younger than you, that's silly.

My boyfriend is 2 years younger than me, but we're probably older than most of you.

I would only ever go out with someone if there was like say a year gap ;/ I suppose if your in love with the person though then I don't think it matters.. It's hard to find someone special so go for it!

It depends on your age really. If you're in college && you date someone younger then there could be some problems.

But older I don't see any problem, whatever floats your boat really age is only an issue when you or your partner are under 16.

    15 and under = 1 year difference
    18 down to 16 = 2/3 year difference

    Above doesn't really matter.

I mean let's say if a guy was 60, and his wife was 50 that sounds like nothing?
